Quality car
I bought it used because my wife has one. Her car has been very reliable so I bought one for myself. Since purchasing it from a Ford dealership, I have been very pleased. I have had no mechanical, electrical or design. Issues. It is a very comfortable car with a well build engine and transmission. The body does have a small rest spot above a rear wheel well and a piece of inside trim is loose. Given the age and mileage, both are acceptable issues attributed to normal ware.

it has served its purpose of transporting me around.
The performance of the vehicle has been unreliable because of its age and usage levels (200,000 miles). The car will nickel and dime you as a part will need replaced every few weeks. This work is on top of regular car maintenance. It is a practical car with decent car mileage. I would say good for commuting longer distances for work. The style is nice, although it is a big car so street parking needs to be chosen carefully. The seats and interior are very roomy and comfortable. The extra features such as traction control are helpful in bad weather. The trunk is also very large and great for storage. The car takes very common tires so replacement is not a problem. The other pro is even though the wear and tear causing constant maintenance, getting the needed parts is not a problem because it is such a common car. The Taurus is also very affordable to buy initially so that helps when you need a car fast. Its status as a car makes it easy to get thru city traffic. The car does not have a cage though so it is not as safe as a SUV would be in an accident. Overall if you are not looking for anything other than a way to get occasionally from point A to B, the Taurus could work for you.
