The AWD system automatically responds to slippery road conditions, which helps you to remain focused on the task of driving. Smooth & quiet ride. Your family will love how smoothly the Ford Taurus rides. It remains comfortable even on broken pavement. You will also like the sedan’s quiet ride. Ford did an exceptional job of insulating the cabin. While the Taurus is great for everyday commuting, drivers shouldn't hesitate to take it on an out-of-town road trip. Fun SHO model. The SHO trim has always been the sportiest trim in the Taurus lineup. It comes equipped with a turbocharged V-6 engine, which pushes out an exciting 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The automated parallel parking system will benefit the drivers who work or live in a busy city. Leather upholstery is yet another popular upgrade. Superior crash protection. If you are concerned about keeping your loved ones safe, the 2017 Ford Taurus will not leave you disappointed. A five-star safety rating certifies it as one of the most secure vehicles in the segment. 2000 Ford Taurus - Gets you from point A to B
I previously owned a smaller car so I'm a bit conflicted on the size. Driving-wise I find it a bit too large for my tastes. That said, it's nice to have the room for shopping trips. I wish we had the ability to knock down the back seats to have even more room for larger items. For instance, right now we're looking into buying a 55" television, and I don't think it will fit in the car, which is a pain. We might have been able to fit it in if we could knock down those seats. Otherwise the car's fine. We've had to put in about $3,000 since we got it, which has been a pain. The blower for the AC went, and we had to replace a bunch of stuff. I don't know what system of the car you would call it, but it involved rotors, tie rods, etc. The brakes were replaced and some other things that I just can't remember now. I guess it's not the worst amount you have to put into a car, but it's not smooth sailing either. It doesn't help when you don't have a trustworthy mechanic. It drives well though and is otherwise decent. I think it's average when it comes to gas usage. We don't go out much, so we don't spend much on gas anyways. It's very comfortable to just sit in it. I think the interior, etc., is about average as well. I think it's an average, big car. It's not as big as a '79 Bonneville though! So all-in-all I'd say it's an average car.
The parking brake got stuck and made this horrendous noise. It was awful.

The size is also a negative for me. Driving a big car can feel intimidating at times on the road. I think it probably had a few too many maintenance issues, but what do you want in a nearly 20-year-old car?
