The Honda that had been in my family's possession for 19 years finally died this past summer. I had driven it for 5 of those years. Looking for a good economy car, my husband and I found a 2014 Ford Fiesta that has been wonderful for our long trips! We purchased the car at 37,000 miles with full warranties, and included another warranty past manufacturers to ensure that it would be well protected. In the last almost 6 months, we have taken many long trips in this little car. Fuel economy is excellent. On highway travelling where our average speed is between 65 and 75, we can usually get about 42 miles per gallon on average, and 35 miles per gallon around town. Travel between 75 and 85 mph usually sets it back to 39-40 miles per gallon. The only problem is, Ford is still improving the t... (more)
Story
My husband and I enjoyed guessing what kind of fuel efficiency it would have on our 9.5 hour one-way trip recently, and it seemed to make our trip time go by faster.
Pros
Fuel efficiency Sleek look Comfortable for long distance traveling Does well in rain and snow Nice electronic capabilities with good sound system
Cons
Automatic transmission (big con) Hard to find car seats that will fit properly without inconvenience to the front seat travelers

I liked this car's styling because it came in a bright, fun color (bright blue) and had a sleek, rounded, compact body. It was narrow enough to fit into small spaces. I liked the look because it was colorful and easy to spot in a parking lot. The interior is relatively comfortable. The seats are made of cloth instead of leather, which I much prefer. I have no complaints about the comfort level of the interior, it was quite comfortable but not the most comfortable car I have even been in. The trunk is surprisingly spacious for a small car. The cabin feels slightly cramped, but it's not bad enough to be a real inconvenience. I do not like that the breaks tend to squeak. I've taken it into the shop twice about this issue and the squeak has come back both times. The gas mileage is pretty ... (more)
Story
I call this car my "beacon in the dark" because it stands out so much in parking lots and I tend to forget where I parked
Pros
Compactness, good break sensitivity, a lot of trunk space, comfortable seats, color changing LED lighting, highly adjustable driver's seat controls, mileage
Cons
Squeaking brakes, small cabin

I drive this car roughly 250 miles a week between work and classes, and after 3 months it still rides like it's brand new. I stop for gas a little less than once a week with use on both highways and in stop-and-go traffic. The engine is extremely quiet, and when the windows are rolled up it's a near silent ride. The trunk is surprisingly spacious, enough to contain my backpack, my friend's backpacks, plus anything else we might have with us. The interior is a sleek and stylish black. The seats are upholstered and yet are easily cleaned and don't hold on to foul odors (e.g. cigarette smoke).
Story
One night, when four of my friends and I were back home together for the summer, we decided that our legs were too tired to continue walking around the block looking for something to do. After some debating, we all piled into my car (since it was the newest) and go down this long stretch of road that runs right along the oceanside. We had the windows rolled down, music blasting, and we zipped ... (more)
Pros
The interior design is simple, yet efficient. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and it's quick and easy to adjust the driver's seat to the perfect height and proximity to the wheel/pedals. The audio panel in the dashboard is easy to navigate even while driving. Also, it might be a compact car but I've had no problem driving it in inclement weather; large puddles and slippery roads are not an issue!
Cons
My main and only complaint for this car is the fact that on the highway it starts to become affected by wind resistance once you hit 80+ MPH. In high winds it's pushed around a little bit, but thankfully not enough to cause safety issues for myself or other drivers.
