I purchased my 2012 Ford Fiesta SE for a very affordable price. The interior design and fabrics used looks and feels higher quality than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. Radio sound is great, all dash options are arranged nicely and are plentiful. The drive is smoother than I expected also, hardly any road noise to speak of and the suspension works very well. My only concern is the way it drives. From what I understand about dual clutch engines, this is to be expected. The first several months of driving it felt like I was just learning how to drive a manual transmission. It would shudder, stall, and shift pretty hard until I got used to driving it a certain way. That being said, the fact that it's a dual clutch is what gives me such great fuel economy. I rarely get less than ... (more)
Story
When I drove up at home with my car, my friend said that it looks like a blue jelly bean. Now, my car is referred to as "blue-b"!
Pros
Exterior looks nice. Interior looks and feels high quality. Great MPG. Smooth ride. Ford Sync available but I don't use. Cruise control.
Cons
Shifts hard. Shudders, as if you're not driving a manual properly. Stalls - if you aren't used to driving it. Not a whole lot of pick-up. No automatic headlamps.

We picked our 2011 Ford Fiesta based purely on the cost. It was simply the least expensive vehicle we could find that had a warranty and an air conditioner. Those were our only two requirements. We named the car Zoomie. He is a beautiful red with black interior that has all the get up and go we need. He is excellent on gas.
Story
Once my wife and I were working in Columbus, Texas. We were sitting inside in a very cool, comfortable cabin catching up on some paperwork. I asked my wife what the thermometer said the outside temperature was. She said 118. I could not believe we were so comfortable and it was so hot outside. On the way back from this trip we were just outside of Eagle Lake, Texas when a huge tractor ran a st... (more)
Pros
The gas mileage is outstanding. We sit still a lot and run the air conditioner. We still manage 33+ miles per gallon in town. We have over 80 thousand miles and he is still going strong. His air conditioner could freeze ice in the car if we wanted to do so. We live on the hot Gulf Coast of Texas where it is sometimes 118. It is cool inside Zoomie. We can fit several 8' long boards in Zoomie.
Cons
The seat belts lock. Sometimes this is a real problem. We have no idea why they do this but they do. Also, the rear visibility in this car is poor. It is very hard to see behind you.

This vehicle is exactly what I wanted when I went to purchase a car. I have a hatchback model, and there is more than enough storage space for my purposes (though I wish the back seat could fold down for additional storage of large items). Despite its small size, it still sits high enough from the ground to be comfortable to step in and out, and there is more than enough space on the interior for even larger passengers (over six feet tall and broad-shouldered) to ride comfortably without back or leg pain. Despite having plenty of interior space, the car still handles and feels like a small car should with an excellent turning radius, good acceleration, and quick response to any input on the driving controls. It needs some acceleration before going up hills since it has a small engin... (more)
Story
My particular vehicle is a lime green hatchback, and I had never seen a single model in the area before I bought it. Within a month of me moving into my apartment complex, my neighbors and the complex staff knew me only by the color of my car, and on my good review of it, my neighbor ended up buying a newer model of the same car.
Pros
The comfort of the ride is one of my favorite features. The car does not shake or rattle and always seems to move very smoothly. The car sits high enough off the ground that even tall passengers can slide in and out without feeling cramped, and the interior is spacious enough to be roomy without the car being excessively large. I get combined mileage of 40-42 mpg, which means that I have to fill the tank very infrequently.
Cons
The lack of power in the engine is a drawback, and it means you have to anticipate a bit before going up a hill. Additionally, the inability to collapse the back seats makes it hard to store larger items in the car so transporting anything more than about six feet long can be a challenge.
