A great old van, the 1988 Ford E-150
I bought a 1988 Ford Econoline E-150 to convert into a camper van. It has been a great experience, and I highly recommend this vehicle for budget-minded vehicle dwellers. The mechanics are very simple. 1988 was when they really had a tried and true configuration for the mechanics. Things don't go bad that often and are typically pretty easy to diagnose and fix. The interior was very outdated, but I tore it all about and remodeled the inside, so now it's a road-worthy modernized camper, and I'm very happy with my choice of vehicle for the project.

Great for families
This is basically the same style as the cargo van but upgraded for passengers. The van has run very well. A few minor things over the years, but that is normal for a vehicle of this age. I'm pleased with how well it has held up with no major repairs. We purchased it used, but it was practically like new when we bought it. It holds seven passengers. The upgraded version with leather interior is very nice. Tow package makes it easy to pull a trailer behind. Four captain's chairs with one three-passenger bench in the rear.

An all-purpose work horse.
The 2016 F-150 is an absolute work horse. It comes with all types of optional upgrades; however, even basic models are great. The FX4 Off Road XL is a beast. I have taken it off-roading through the mountains, hauled a full load of wood, moved multiple items, including all major furniture from our hold house to our current house, all with ease. The double cab has plenty of space, and is preferable if you would rather have the long bed at 6.5 ft. It has also been a great vehicle to get up and down the mountain that I live on, in all sorts of weather, including over a foot of snow in the 4x4 mode. The seats are very comfortable and the leg room is spacious. The truck also drives very nicely - it is not too tank like but you can feel a lot of the power in the engine. There is also plenty of interior cabinet space and drawers for all sorts of items. The build quality is also fantastic, as you really get the sense that it is not going to fall apart quickly. Also, the gas mileage has been surprisingly good for a truck. In fact, as of the date of this review, I am averaging over 20 MPG. Finally, the truck is fun to drive as it is quick and powerful, yet very comfortable and easy to handle.
