Over the years I've owned and driven a multitude of different cars and trucks. After owning my Ford Taurus SHO for 2 years I can say it is one of the best cars I've owned. The car comfortable, extremely sexy, and has so much to offer in media entertainment as well as style of the interior. I commute a fair amount of mile every day to work and back home. Performing that mundane task has been elevated very high with this car. I actually look forward to the drive to and from work now. It's my own little bubble which shields me from the outside world. Riding in style with almost no outside road noise I have no issues conversing on meetings over the built in Blue Tooth in the car. The price was a little more then I would usually pay for a car but in the end it was well worth every penny. ... (more)
Story
There isn't really just one specific story for this car. What I do get is compliments from complete strangers on how awesome the car looks and sounds every week. Either at a gas station, at a red light, or even a store parking lot. People tend to notice the car and just have to say something nice about it to me. It's nice that people appreciate a nice ride but what really makes me enjoy the co... (more)
Pros
Power and acceleration, comfort, interior styling, technology package, and twenty inch rims stock! Even for all it's power the mileage is still very good. On most tanks of gas I get around 22 miles per gallon. Not bad at all for a twin turbo v6.
Cons
The only thing I would change about this car is the stereo. It came stock with a Sony sound system. It's ok but for the class of car this is in I would've preferred a much higher class of sound system like a Bose. At higher volumes the sound system flattens out and sounds weak.

1999 Ford Taurus - It keeps on going and going!

Traveling the highway is effortless with a factory DOHC 24 Valve high performance SHO motor. This car has some serious get up and go. And with the built in sunroof you can enjoy feeling the wind blowing through your hair. Excellent gas mileage. But, want to do a little back roading? Go for it! This Taurus is as comfortable on gravel as it is on asphalt. This full size sedan makes hauling the kids around a breeze, and a huge trunk to accommodate sports equipment or band instruments. I highly recommend this car. It's an amazing ride.
Story
My son secretly raced a "high performance" truck… and won!
Pros
The secret DOHC SHO motor is awesome. The sunroof is an absolute plus. Cast alloy aluminum rims add a lot of character. Power seats are great for shorter people to adjust themselves. The dash lights are great for nighttime driving. It sports leather seats. Great gas mileage with its 6 cyl. engine (the DOHC doesn't affect gas mileage). Makes for easy hauling of things with its spacious trunk.
Cons
A couple of cons are: It sits close to the ground (so when you are back roading, watch out for bottoming out!). Leather seats are sticky in the summer, cold and hard in the winter. And for some reason the CD player is located in the trunk?
