I bought this Expedition EL when I had my third child, and my previous vehicle could not accommodate the car seats required. It has the latest technology for the year, and I love playing music through my phone and having a back-up camera.
Story
Like I said, I live in a Northern climate so SUVs and pickups are a common sight, but I've had several people comment on how we must have got the "biggest one we could find!" Also, we have come upon other vehicles stuck in snow several times and come to their aid, since it is very hard to get an Expedition stuck on a city street.
Pros
I live in a Northern climate with harsh winters. There is usually a lot of snow, and life doesn't slow down -- even when substantial snow falls like it does in warmer regions. Usually, even in snow and ice, we still have to get to school and work, and my Expedition doesn't get stuck. Also, our house is on a steep hill, and my previous vehicles sometimes couldn't climb it when it was icy and would careen down it which was terrifying. I also love the sound system and how I can play music and control the entertainment with my voice. I like the extra long space in the back for my gigantic... (more)
Cons
It is quite large. I still struggle to park it sometimes and often have to realign after pulling into a space. It takes up most of the space in our garage, and I have to watch the side mirrors closely when pulling in. Also, gas mileage is an obvious issue with vehicles of this size.

I purchased this vehicle after having my third child in 2015. I now have four children, so I will need a large vehicle for years to come. This Expedition has room for all our car seats and room in the back for cargo and bags when we travel or make large shopping trips.
Story
My previous driveway (we moved this summer) was at the top of a hill, which was very treacherous when it was icy. One day my neighbor was stuck on it with tires spinning out, and I climbed right by them with the Expedition.
Pros
I live in the Midwest where winter can be challenging, and there is really nothing that can stop this vehicle. It tears through snowdrifts, mud and slush without a problem. We have pulled out other stuck vehicles many times with it. It is also comfortable, has a smooth ride and a good sound system with Sync so I can listen to music through my phone.
Cons
It is a gas guzzler and very large. Sometimes I struggle to park in in a crowded parking lot and park farther away where there are more empty spaces for me to maneuver around.
