Being a small person I feel protected in the size of the truck. Including having the non factory brush guard on the front and sturdy bumper on the back. It has been a sore in our side sometimes because of the age of it but it has been dependable for us.
Story
My most memorable moment in this truck is sleeping in the bed of it with my husband. Our two daughters slept in the cab. We had arrived at a family members house very late and didn't want to wake them. So being out in the country we made do with sleeping in the truck on a clear night at that. Star gazing from the bed of a truck is the best !!
Pros
The top positive part of owning this Ford truck is when we have moved it held a lot of our things! Moving over 700 miles at one time was hard but using the truck bed to transport items was great. There is also a good hitch on it to pull a trailer with. It's been used many times for personal or farm purposes.
Cons
The down side of having a large truck is it uses diesel fuel. With the prices at present point it's not too much to fill it up. Back when the fuel was pricey it didn't always get a full tank fill up. It's not inexpensive either when travelling long distances. The other con is it's an extended cab not a quad cab. So one has to open the front door to access the back seat. It has not been much trouble for me though.

Our truck is 17 years old and is still going strong! Sure, it has needed routine maintenance over the years but at her age, a little work is normal. We've driven her across the country, across town and across tough terrain with no issues. The engine now has over 200K miles and runs like a champ. With an optional tow package, it has carried heavy loads on trailers and with phenomenal results. The long bed is great for hauling lumber, tools, and even for moving a household over a thousand miles! The 4 wheel drive is great for driving in the northern winters or for driving around a field in Texas. Our family of 5 fits comfortably in the cab on road trips, and with a nice stereo, the trips go faster. Heat and A/C work wonderfully. Even as old as it is, the truck is still running strong and... Story
We climbed some pretty big hills on the cattle ranch, quite a nice little adventure with the family!
Pros
The long bed is the best feature to me, along with the roomy interior and heavy duty engine.
Cons
The seats aren't heated, and the heat takes a little while to get hot. Had to take off the bed to get to the fuel pump to replace it.
