2011 Ford Focus - Best Car I've Ever Driven
I have had this car for about 5 years now and it is so reliable. I don't know much about cars at all, but for me it exceeds my expectations and I don't think I'll ever buy anything other than Ford ever again.

I remember driving to my parents house from Baltimore one day and the whole commute it wasn't snowing at all, so I didn't think whatsoever about the roads or which way to take or anything. So I ended up taking the back roads, part of which is a SUPER narrow unmarked curvy road surrounded by trees which is an extremely steep hill. Once I got to that road, I was less than a mile from my parents and that was the first point that I had seen snow so it didn't cross my mind that the snow would affect me at all. I got halfway up the hill to get stuck and only then did I see three other cars stuck all around me. So I had to call my boyfriend, who brought his two brothers and his dad's truck to tow me out, but I was sandwiched between people so we ended up spending the whole night towing other people.
Despite my 3 hour round-trip commute per day (home to school to work to back home), it has never once had a single problem occur with it. I love the interior (black leather and the whole car lights up whatever color I want). There's so much space in the trunk and the backseat and it is super pretty.

There's only a few cons, because the car really is perfect to me. Firstly, it's not very good in the snow... I've slid quite a few times and even got stuck once and had to be towed out. Secondly, when I bought my car new, it had brand new technology in it like being able to talk through Bluetooth and having USB drives installed... These things have a lot of flaws - the USB goes in and out of working, the Bluetooth calling doesn't always work, and the voice commands you have to repeat yourself several times before it actually understands you, which gets so frustrating that I can't even reme... Since 2011, in rental cars I've driven that are newer, it seems that these technologies have improved and there are now bigger and better things out there. But besides that, the car itself is so wonderful.
2011 Ford Focus - Reliable, yet boring car
I purchased this car used with about 15,000 miles on it. So far, I have not had any major mechanical issues and have put about an additional 50,000 miles on it.
I get 27.7 Miles to the gallon (mostly highway driving), but I have a little bit of a lead foot so a more conscientious driver should be able to push about 30 mpg. I usually only need to fill up every 2 weeks since the tank holds just over 12 gallons.
I have begun to notice some squeaks and rattles, but that's somewhat to be expected since the interior is mostly plastic (except for the leather seats). Speaking of leather seats, I'd recommend that you avoid getting both a black exterior and black leather seats, as they get quite hot when the car sits in the sun for any extended period of time.

I have found some other minor issues. The engine sometimes vibrates excessively when idling at a stoplight. Based on some research, it seems this is likely due to some small stones caught in the engine mount. This should be easy enough to fix, but I just haven't gotten around to it. My largest complaint is that the front tires wear out waaay too fast. I've had 70,000 mile rated tires last for 25,00 before they need to be replaced. Many tire place offer certificates for tires which allow you to replace the tires for a fraction of the cost of the new tires if they wear out too soon. This is a MUST if you purchase this care.
I loved taking a road trip up to my girlfriend's dad's cabin in northern Wisconsin! The weather was perfect, so we were able to drive with the windows down, the sunroof open, and blast some songs!
