My husband picked this car out as our family vehicle when we were pregnant with our first baby. Coming from a Dodge family, I was a bit skeptical but trusted his research and conclusions. It sits comfortably and has held up to our 80k mileage in the 4 years without needing any major repairs. It has plenty of room in the hatchback to pack for 2-3 week trips, with extra toys to entertain the two kids we now have. The gas mileage is good enough where we can travel without feeling as guilty, and I really like how it accepts alternative gas sources.
Story
One time, traveling back from South Dakota to Oklahoma, we ended up going on a back road to let our oldest out to move around. Ended up it had been raining heavily the day before, and although the cement roads were all dry, the road we went on was gravel and was actually quite muddy. We didn't realize it, and about a half mile in we parked, then started sinking. It took about a half hour to ge... (more)
Pros
The reliability. In the 4 years we've had it, we've driven around 80k miles and have not broken down during any of our trips. Also, no other system has broken or required excess work to keep up and running. We've been in Texas and North Dakota, during their rough months respectively, and have had no issues with starting the vehicle. Gas mileage. It doesn't take a bunch of fuel all of the time, and when we do go on trips, the gas mileage is around 40 miles per gallon. It's spacious enough for a young family of 4, with room for toys and other entertainment. The hatchback. It makes it easy to... (more)
Cons
Air filter and A/C unit. It has a tendency to output a moldy smell, so we leave the windows open when we first start to get it to aerate a bit. Not a good deal in a state where it gets over 100 degrees F every summer. User interface for the music/sound station. Whoever designed this was not designing it with a driver in mind, and wasn't very thorough with the testing. If we use the Bluetooth over the speaker, we need to restart the system before we can switch back to the radio or CD, and most of the time the lady can't understand what we are saying anyways. It's very tedious and requires a... (more)

The 2000 Toyota corolla is a very good car overall. It is very gas efficient. It seats around 4-5 people comfortably. It is as reliable as they get but has a few cons. The car lack electric ports only having one. It only has front cup holders so that's a bit unfortunate. The mud cover for the tires scrape the pavement if the ground is steep which is damaged.
Story
A few time I have crammed 7 passengers in it. Trust me, it wasn't comfortable.
Pros
Good gas efficiency overall. Toyota efficient to its fullest. Will go easily over 200000+ miles if well taken care of. It holds 12 gallons of gasoline, with an average of 35mpg or so it will go on for a long time on the highway. Also has cd and tape inputs.
Cons
A little too crammed if you seat five people. Lacks energy ports. 4cylindermotor takes time to accelerate if loaded.

They were pretty easy to work with, which is all I ask for from a dealership.
