This was the first car I ever bought, and I've loved it from day one. Although it doesn't look particularly sporty, the gas mileage on it is wonderful. I usually only pay about $30 to fill it up, and that gets me to 400 till E. I've driven back and forth across the state of TX in it and had no issues. It's incredibly trustworthy.
Story
Driving across West Texas, listening to music with the sunroof open and the breeze in my hair.
Pros
I have a sunroof on my SES model, which is great for when the weather is lovely outside. It comes with a Bluetooth speaker, which I can connect my phone to automatically and listen to my own music. The speakers are actually pretty great as well. There is also these little lights on the floor. They change color when you push them, and it's a neat feature for when it's dark outside.
Cons
After 100,000 miles, it does require some maintenance. Regular oil changes, air filter changes, even the brake pads. My brake pads have squeaked from day one, and no one has been able to figure out why. Sometimes it won't start in the fashion that the motor won't turn over. I find this happens when I need the throttle body cleaned, or it's especially hot outside.

Overall, I liked my Ford Focus because it helped me keep my budget in check. I wanted to buy a smaller used car that would be easy to fix should it need repairs. This fit the bill on all points. Nothing about it is too expensive, including insurance. Since it was used, I did not care too much about wear and tear on the car, so not much stress went into the experience at all.
Story
Not being worried about gunning it in my cheap focus down toll roads, when I know that would have bothered me in a more expensive car.
Pros
The car itself was very cheap, as were the insurance payments. Did not have to worry about taking care of a very nice car. Putting gas in the car was cheaper than any other care I've driven.
Cons
Since the car was cheaper, a few things did break or stop working over time. Things like the air conditioning had to be fixed a couple times, and one of the windows stopped working as well. I expected little things like that when I bought it, but it didn't bother me as long as I got from point A to point B.

They had a really great selection of vehicles. I had a specific list of needs and was worried that I would only be able to find one or two options, but the dealer was able to show me many options that fit my needs. They were also really friendly and patient.
