1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty - Good strong work vehicle.
I like the 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine. They have stopped making them. This truck could tow five tons without sweating. The model I bought was lifted, so I had no problem with clearance. The cab was comfortable, even though I am a tall person--6'6".
Story
I had a creek on the property that was flooded. I needed to get through to feed my cows. Since I had high enough clearance, I put it in four-wheel drive and made it through the creek to feed the animals.
Pros
The four-wheel drive works well. The tow package handled all my needs. The truck bed is big enough to haul many things without the need for a trailer. My model came with a protective grill over the back window. I felt protected, and there was still enough clearance to put a ratchet strap through it to secure cargo in the bed. The truck looks smart. I have received many compliments on its appearance.
Cons
There is a design flaw in the windshield that allows water to drip on the computer that is secured in the passenger side window well. If you are going to buy a used model, you need to check its condition. You can access it through the cover on the inner wheel well. When the computer becomes damaged, it can cause weird things--like spontaneously starting, throwing engine error codes, etc., If you do not confirm that your computer is working properly, you could be led on a wild goose chase.
