I purchases my 2012 Ford Focus in used condition. Upon purchase my car had 15,000 miles on it and was almost like new. I have had few problems with the Focus. I am a single mother of a teenage girl and a ten year old son with autism. I am also an artist and sports mom, so our car is all purpose, from hauling groups of teenagers here and there, traveling with sports teams, we are all over the place, all of the time. My son has issues with behaviors and we have had some instances in the car where he will try to jump out while moving because he is having a meltdown. This is where the child lock feature has come in very handy. I am also truly appreciative of the automatic door lock and window lock control from the driver's seat. It has prevented a few items from flying out the window. The ... (more)
Story
As I said, we are in Western New York which is infamous for its snow, but recently we have had more ice issues. I was taking my son cupcakes for his birthday at school and I have to take back roads. A storm came out of no where. The usual road I take I couldn't make it up the large hill so I had to back all the way down the hill, unfortunately I was in a valley so there was no way out without ... (more)
Pros
I would say the top positive things about my Ford Focus would be, the spacious interior. The car is actually much more spacious inside that it would appear from the outside. And with two growing kids, friends, toys, sports equipment, dogs, we can use all the space we can get. The rear fold down seats are one of the handiest features when it comes to transporting bikes, art work, whatever you can imagine we have somehow fit into this vehicle. The front seats are easily adjustable and fold forward to make more room when traveling with a large piece or camping equipment.
Cons
As mentioned before overall I really have had a good experience with this car the only issues we have really had has been the light weight of the vehicle. Living in Western New York, we never know what weather is going to hit on a moments notice and I have had more issues driving in the snow and rain with my Ford Focus. Difficulty making it up hills in the winter, whereas some of that is the tires which we have upgraded. I do not like how there is no manual trunk release, you have to have it on your remote and if you don't have that you cannot access the trunk unless you pull down the rear... (more)

The Ford Focus is what people think to be the American dream of cars. It's Ford after all. But maybe that's not a good thing. Maybe the acronym that people state often is true about it. I think it would be true, in my personal opinion. This car lasted me only about five years, and along with it being my second Ford that I had to repair at least once yearly, I realized that I'll most likely never shop American again. The car consistently had problems with it and often they were expensive fixes. A few months into buying it, the tie rods went. Shortly, and by shortly I mean, really shortly after, the transmission went. This isn't something that should be happening. I think a car that you buy new should be something that lasts you at least ten years, minimum. One positive is that the fixes... (more)
Story
Other than taking it on a few road trips about 1,000 miles total cross country, there were not many. Too much time spent fixing it.
Pros
The vehicle, for its shape, was roomy. It had a decent amount of space in the back. The car zipped as well and was comfortable to ride in. Beyond that, not much positive out of it. It was fairly cheap for the model.
Cons
Almost everything. The vehicle's road noise was very, very distinct and very loud as well. Sometimes you might confuse it with something being wrong with the car, and with the type of car it was, you probably wouldn't be wrong. It was a bumpy ride and not the good type of bumpy.

I have been searching for a new car and even though it's a Ford/Lincoln dealership, they have also assisted me with finding a car from a different brand. They are never pushy to get the sale from me and are full of information of what I may like in my new vehicle. When I access their website, I can always find up-to-date deals and they even take my Capital One check if I want to continue having an auto loan through them.

Easy to understand language, honesty about car quality/condition, friendly, helpful staff, and willingness to haggle over the price made for a very enjoyable experience. Additionally, the reduced cost of repairs for the car in the future have proven to be very fortunate as the car has a number of issues. The maintenance staff is always willing to talk things over so I have a better understanding of what is involved with the car repair.
