When I leave my home, I must decide among 100 gravel roads or one two-lane paved road that only goes north/south. I also live in the north, in snow country. And I'm a widow. I need, thus, a great vehicle with high clearance that is reliable and that does not balk at anything back country: dirt roads, hills of wheat fields, gravel, mud, lots of snow, wind, dust, you name it. I love my F150. I feel like I have the arms of a strong man wrapped around me as I wind my way through empty back roads. At 140K miles, he has never broken down on me. I've done regular maintenance.
Story
I was coming round a corner of the paved road here which was knee deep in snow. I saw four cars not moving ahead of me, two on each side of the road. There were sedans stuck in the drift. All of the drivers were male. I towed each one of those sedans out of the drift. They thanked the widow lady profusely.
Pros
Strong. Safe. Heavy metal feeling. Ride is comfortable and quiet. But I'm looking for a solid ride that likes the natural world. This isn't electric vehicle world. He performs great.
Cons
Of course, the gas consumption. Of course!

This truck drives very well. The turn radius is exceptional for a larger vehicle and I am surprised by the gas mileage (approx 19 mpg). It can comfortably pull my two-horse trailer with one horse in it and can pull a 20 ft ski boat without issue. I have not yet tried hauling more than one horse. Unfortunately, I can no longer see the temperature reading, but it has not caused much of an issue. I love the rear-view mirror auto feature! It changes tint with the passing of the day, so I can better see in all lighting situations. Having automatic lights is also a great feature, so I do not accidentally leave my lights on. The biggest issue I have with it is that my battery has been draining for no apparent reason and when I took it into the shop, they could not find out what was wrong. I'v... (more)
Story
I once got stuck driving over a log while off-roading. I spent about 15 minutes trying to get unstuck until I remembered that I have 4WD...I then drove off without issue.
Pros
Turn radius Towing capacity 4WD Gas mileage Leather interior Passes emissions testing every time
Cons
Battery drains quickly due to unknown reason Temperature gauge no longer functional

The sales team was very helpful in answering questions. They did not hesitate to take us out in the car and let us test it out. They were also great about letting us take the car to our own mechanic to have it looked at. The dealership worked with us to find a price and monthly payment that would work within our budget. The service was friendly and personalized.
