Cheap
We bought this vehicle for the gas mileage. We do a lot of traveling for work and sports and needed something that got good gas mileage. While it does great in terms of gas mileage, there are other things that we do not like. We have put over 100,000 miles on it without major problems which is a good thing. However from the beginning, it had a whistling noise that came from the passenger door where it doesn't seal correctly. Also, there is a pinging noise that is due to a software problem that Hyundai refuses to fix even after contacting them. Overall, the car is cheaply made, but then again, we didn't pay much for it. The protective cover is coming off both the steering wheel and gear shift just from normal use. For a smaller car, it is quite comfortable and easy to drive. It does not do well in bad weather conditions such as snow or rain which is disappointing. The windshield is still original and very tough. It has many dings and cracks, but they don't spread which is nice. The body of the car falls apart easily. I scraped the front end on a concrete parking stone once when parking, and the whole front corner of the car came off. I am afraid to see how easily it falls apart if it ever got in an actual accident. Overall it is not the worst car we have driven, and it has been reliable for over 100,000 miles, so it was a good buy - just little things that annoy us daily that we wish were better.

Cheap, roomy, no features
The Accent is a good choice for a starter car. The trunk is amazingly roomy and the back seats fold back. Gas mileage is great - a $30 tank will get me from Chicago to St. Louis. The ride is smooth enough, but not luxury-car level. The speakers are good and the seats give enough room for even tall passengers. You do want to consider the height of the car (it is very low to the ground) and cruise control (does not come installed) from the lot. It is a fun car!

The price of the car was very reasonable for the quality and compared to other dealerships. When asking questions about the type and quality of the car, the dealership was very knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed having a test ride of the car without feeling pressured to buy. The atmosphere was open and bright and the facilities were very clean and up to date.
