Hyundai Elantra Owner Ratings & Reviews

2002 Hyundai Elantra - Great first car.
I first started learning to drive a few years ago, and this Hyundai Elantra was the first car I ever owned or bought. It handles well, drives perfect, is easy to maneuver and fits in just about any space. It's also a very economical car as it gets 30+ MPG on the highway and roads. While being a rather small car, a hatchback, it was still very comfortable and I didn't mind going on long drives in it. Despite being a hatchback it is also a very sporty, cute little car. All the Elantra models have a nice design to them, even the newer ones which I like over many newer car models. It is an old car however so unfortunately you don’t get all the bells and whistles of a newer car like USB or rear view cameras and auto parallel parking mods but it still has power steering, electronic windows, ... (more)
Story
When I was a baker for an old punk band I used to take my car all over California. It was such a freeing and wonderful experience and at that moment I really understood why people get so emotionally attached to their cars. We've been through everything together and there's really nothing that beats being in your car on the open road.
Pros
Handles well, economical, nice design, comfortable seating, gets great gas mileage, moonroof.
Cons
Older model, so no USB ports, small, so it cannot carry a lot of things, also since it's a small car really tall people won't be too comfortable in it.
2008 Hyundai Elantra - Great car for young and old
The Elantra car is a great car for young adults and seniors. I like that is very reliable. My car has lasted 10 years. And before this model, I had the 2005 model, which unfortunately, I experienced an accident in. That totaled the car. But I walked away with only a broken arm. I feel completely safe in the car with all the safety features in it. I dislike that it doesn't have enough leg room for my toddler in the back seat with her high chair, and the brakes are very touchy. When someone is not familiar with driving the car it take awhile to get use to the brakes. As I said it is reliable, but speed isn't its strong point. It takes a little to get up to speed. And going up a steep hill it takes a while to go into the right gear.
Story
I once had to help my sister move to college a few hours away. We packed up our cars. She was surprised on how much I fit inside my Elantra, and I drove to her new college apartment. After we unloaded everything, we went shopping for her new stage of life.
Pros
Reliable. It will run well for at least 10 years. Safety features.
Cons
Not good for families, because of lack of leg room in the back seat, and it takes awhile for the ac to cool down the back of the car on a hot day. It doesn't have speed. Brakes are touchy.
