Overall the car is of good quality. I have had the car for 11 years now, and for its age it is in good shape. Giving it a good maintenance all these years has kept the car in top notch shape meaning it has the power to last long.
Story
The most memorable story I've had in this car was when I took the whole family to the beach. My son wanted to learn how to surf, so we bought him a board. We didn't have the tools to hold the board on the roof so we had to move the seats down to fit the board inside. Even with being such a small sedan we were able to fit the board and we happily road to the beach.
Pros
The car is very spacious for being a compact sized sedan. The look is very minimalistic, but sleek. The car gets good mileage with 23mpg, and is cheap to maintain. It has lasted me for 11 years and have only had to take it in the shop for regular maintenance, wear and tear, etc. The interior design is very nice and gives it a sleek look even though it is a low cost sedan.
Cons
Being at the bottom of the list in comparison to the engine power, the car is not a speed bullet. It will get to an average high speed, but struggles when going up steep mountains. The rims on the wheels get scratched fairly easily, making it look old with age. Because of the lower than average horse power, the car will not go very efficiently when packed with a lot of weight.

1998 Nissan Sentra - Unreliable but cheap.

The 1998 Sentra is a vehicle that shows its age with its mediocre GA16DE engine. The GXE trim does not sport the much more popular SR20 engine. The interior is reasonable comfortable for what it is. The road noise is quite loud. The stock speakers are what you'd expect of such an old vehicle and required an immediate upgrade to more modern standards. The engine tended to leak oil around the valve cover gasket regardless of how many times it was replaced. Parts would regularly fail, such as the Idle Air Control Valve, Mass Airflow Sensor, and Throttle Position Sensor. Research shows these parts commonly become an issue with this vehicle. Fuel economy, when parts affecting emissions -- like the ones above -- are running properly, is around a respectable 30 miles per gallon. It was cheap,... (more)
Story
One day, I traveled to the beach with the car. It was funny how this little engine was chugging up the hill overlooking the ocean. Its profile against the sunset was hilarious but warming.
Pros
Fuel economy is 30 miles per gallon. The car is cheap to buy if you're strapped for cash.
Cons
Engine performance is lacking, and hills are very difficult to climb at a respectable speed. Road noise is very loud with little to no isolation from the environment. Interior comfort is low due to upholstery quality and climate control performance. Ride smoothness is rough. Transmissions experience some jerkiness at higher mileage.
