I never aspired to own a pickup. I didn't research which was best among all the various brands. I simply went to the lot and found one that looked nice. I settled on the 2014 Ram 1500. I love the Ram boxes. There's plenty of storage there for anything I might need. I went with a truck bed liner and added a tonnoeau cover as well. I even put a pad in there once I started hauling people around with it.
Story
I used the truck to haul gravel from the quarry to my residence. I must have hauled 30 tons so far. It's been a blast with the dump trailer.
Pros
The truck has a back up camera, which is excellent for attaching to a tow. I got myself a hydraulic dump trailer. The thing is excellent and works well with the Ram. The truck tows up to its listed weight with little trouble. I've hauled tons of gravel with it and haven't had any troubles. The interior is amazing. It's quite a luxury car. It has heated seats as well as air conditioning. The steering wheel is heated and the console screen is humongous. I like the modern digital options. It has a couple of glove boxes as well as a large center console storage. The back seats have ... (more)
Cons
It's a gas hog. The thing gets about 17 mpg, which is pretty good for a big truck. It took some time to get used to riding so high up. You're in quite a command position in the truck.

I wanted a navy blue one. They didn't have any too look at with that color. I'm not happy with the color. The head rest tilts forward too much. I'm short so it hurts my neck to leave it like that. I have to flip it backwards so it won't hurt my neck. We got the million-mile warranty with no deductible, which was very expensive, but we won't have to worry about repairs ever. It drives okay but has swerved when the roads have water.
Story
We have used it to hook a trailer to and bring home big Christmas presents for the kids. We have brought home go-carts and battery-operated Jeeps for the kids.
Pros
The warranty is the best thing. The radio is okay. It has hidden compartments under the floor mats behind the front seats. It came with satellite radio for the first year.
Cons
It's very hard to see out of. I don't feel safe switching lanes because I'm short and can't see good. We didn't get any fancy features, which was a mistake. It was very expensive for the plain version. The USB cord is very inconvenient to plug in. It's inside the middle compartment. You have to put the compartment down to open it up and plug the cord in. That's hard to do when driving. It's too expensive on gas for us to drive much, so we bought a newer small car to drive most of the time. I don't like the seat material. It doesn't feel good to the touch.
