In January of 2016, a leased a 16 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab, Big Horn Addition. The powertrain chosen was the Pentastar V6 over the 5.7 Hemi V8. I selected the Pentastar V6 for a number for reasons. One, it has good performance due to the gearing of the 8-speed automatic. Second, the fuel economy in very impressive for a full-size pickup truck. Three, it provides all the functionality that I would ever need. Four, the price of the truck with the Pentastar V6 was much less than the Hemi V8. In addition to the powertrain, I love the ride quality if the coil link suspension. Ride more like a car based SUV than a full body on frame truck. The cabin room is perfect for a family of five. Story
Simply, spending the weekends with my family. Towing a boat to a local lake and enjoying the day. Not having to worry about reliability and refueling the tank.
Pros
It is a big truck that drives small. The fuel and performance is a good compromise. It even pulls my 2800 pound boat and trailer very well. I forget it is back there, unless I am on a hill. Spacious leg room in the back seat. LED lighted bed is a huge plus at night. I love the ride of the vehicle. The Uconnect system is easy to navigate and use.
Cons
There are a few negative things. One, I get about 3 miles less per gallon in the winter month season versus the summer month season. Two, I think the tailgate should have drop dampeners. Three, the active grill shutters should stay open at all time when driving in tow/haul mode. I think the truck runs a little warm at times.

The Ram 1500 Laramie is a beast of a truck. The Hemi engine is powerful and has a lot of torque. It is fast, and you feel it when you hit the gas. The leather interior is next to none that I have seen. The seats are soft and the interior is like a space ship with lots of LED lighting and ambient backlights. Cargo space is superior with a 5' long bed. The bells and whistles that go with this vehicle are spectacular. Moonroof, electric start, navigation system and heated seats to name a few. It is a gas hog though. If you are looking to save money on gas, this is not the truck for you. 11 mpg tops in the city and 16 mpg with the V8 is about the best you're going to get. It's fast!
Story
I love going off-road in my local park. There are lots of back trails that I love to ride on. I wasn't into off-roading in a truck this nice. It handles like a recreational vehicle, and you feel like you're a kid again. My wife loves it too.
Pros
Top features include a very powerful 395 HP Hemi and an eight-speed transmission that gets up and goes. The interior is all leather with cowhide and stitched. The seats are so comfortable, and you ride up high like a truck should. The four-wheel drive is easy to use, and you can run in all the time or some of the time with the twist of a knob. The push-button start comes in handy for the cold weather when you want to heat the truck up from your house.
Cons
Gas mileage could be better. I'm not sure how with the heavy engine in this vehicle. The tires that come with it are Goodyear and pretty basic low end. They will last about 12 months because they are soft. Upgrade the tires when you purchase though the Goodrich.
