Dependable Car
The Saturn SL-1 has very many pro's as it is a dependable vehicle and great on gas. I recommend this car to anyone who is a first time buyer and would like to learn how to take care of a vehicle. There is nothing in this car that isn't hard to remove, replace, or clean. Another great pro is that it is budget vehicle, which delivers way more than most budget vehicles. If I had any cons to say about this vehicle, it would be the room. I would not recommend this car to a large family, as it is a small vehicle and space is limited.

Reliable despite high mileage
I purchased my Saturn L Series when it already had over 100k miles. Despite being an old car with many miles I have had very few problems except needing to change the brakes and tires a few times. It is not a powerful car by any means, but it meets the needs of a low income student quite well and provides suitable, if not glamorous conveyance. The main complaints that I do have with the car are with regards to relatively cramped seating arrangements in the back and very low acceleration that can at times be an inconvenience during high way driving.

Once called old reliable, becomes just old.
The 1996 Saturn LS2 was a top contender in its day. 21 years ago that is. I bought incised back about 6 years ago. The original interior was still in great condition. Nice light and dark grey. While it is a sedan, the car just never had the roomy feel for our family. Gas millage was nice though. I think it was somewhere around 30 miles highway, give or take. She has a little over 200k miles. I had to replace the radiator once. My fault of course. The mounting brackets on the engine need to be checked periodically to be sure they are tight. I had one bolt shoot through the engine. My other Saturn had similar issues and it was the same make and model. Coincidence, maybe? Never the less a great car in its day. Too bad that day was so long ago.
