Great car, even at 13 years old
I bought my 2002 Saturn L300 about a year ago. I did a lot of research about different cars in my price range and wound up specifically looking for a Saturn. Even with 145,000 miles on it the car is exceptional in many ways. I was concerned that I might not get good gas mileage with a 6 cylinder, but I'm actually getting better mileage than I did with my previous 4 cylinder. The handling is great... It takes turns like a smaller car. There's only one small spot of rust on the body, which is a lot better than most cars this age. The only thing I've had to have fixed on it was a rear control arm that broke when I hit a bad pothole last spring. The interior is very nice, with most all of the controls in easy to get to locations. It's very spacious and comfortable, with a large trunk, too. The one thing I would change in the interior is the location of the window controls. They're on the center console, and I would prefer them to be on the doors. The exterior styling is nice, like a lot of the mid size cars from that time, but with a bit of a classy look. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for an inexpensive used car that can take the time to look around and find the best one on the market.

Dependable Car
The Saturn SL-1 has very many pro's as it is a dependable vehicle and great on gas. I recommend this car to anyone who is a first time buyer and would like to learn how to take care of a vehicle. There is nothing in this car that isn't hard to remove, replace, or clean. Another great pro is that it is budget vehicle, which delivers way more than most budget vehicles.
If I had any cons to say about this vehicle, it would be the room. I would not recommend this car to a large family, as it is a small vehicle and space is limited.

First car and I still drive it everyday
Currently my 99' Saturn has over 126k miles on it. I have replaced several key parts over the 7 years that I've owned it, and it has been through several accidents. However I love my car and it has gotten me through thick and thin.
My Saturn is a 4 door Sedan style car that averages between 24-28mpg. The interior is comfortable with plenty of trunk space and back seating. Although it is only a 4 cylinder vehicle, I still manage to get decent acceleration out of it, especially considering that my car is almost 15 years old! The styling isn't anything special but its a great vehicle for getting around town and commuting to work in.
My only cons I would have with my Saturn is that it is not a very safe car when it comes to impacts. The fenders are made of fiberglass and the hood is designed to absorb any impact damage to the car from in front by bending upwards. Luckily though, because these parts are so inadequate for safety, they are fairly cheap to replace if need be! My other concern is that because my car is getting older, it will require more upkeep to stay running, however I have been relatively lucky so far. I have poured hundreds of dollars into my Saturn to get it running efficiently and I do not regret any of it. I would recommend this vehicle as being an affordable, adequate, first car that anyone would use to get to school or work or around town.
