Decent Vehicle & Price
It's a great size if you don't need to transport more than two people. The backseat is way too small to be in for very long, but the front seats are plenty roomy. The roof is tall enough there. The car is very low to the ground, which I love. Normally that would mean the roof is low and I hit my head when I go over speed bumps, but that never happens in this car. It has great pick up and acceleration. It's a 5 speed and handles so well. It's silly, but I feel like a race car driver on the highway. The engine is loud enough to hear when to shift and to feel exciting, but quiet enough that it isn't obnoxious. You don't have to turn the radio up over the engine. Speaking of, the stereo is surprisingly good. The trunk is a wonderful size, and if you need to fit something in the back (I had to move bookshelves) you can lower the back seats, which expands the trunk space by another three feet.

Good inexpensive car
The 2001 Saturn L series is a good automobile for the price, a good value. It is a shame that the Saturn is no longer produced by GM. Although it is my only car it makes a great second car for a family. I have over 116,000 miles on it and have had only minimal problems with it, far less than you would think would be the case with a car with that many miles. It gets good gas mileage, especially on the highway. It has a larger trunk than you might expect and I have used it for long distance travel, although the seats are not the most comfortable after a while. One thing I do not like is that it has a larger turning radius than you would expect a car this size to have. Stereo is pretty decent for an economy car, mine has a CD player since it is an older auto. When it has needed repairs I have found them to be relatively inexpensive. The styling is pretty generic for that period, it will not turn heads but it will not look like it is from another era either. Overall a good value for a family or student.

The Saturn L1 series review.
This is my review for the Saturn L1 series 1999 model. The Saturn L1 series is a very reliable car to me with easy maintenance and less gasoline usage. I like that the car tag is cheaper due to the car being an older model. The 1999 Saturn came built with a thick rubber bumper which I like.
