I purchased the Saturn Vue Hybrid primarily for its gas mileage. My wife and I were searching for a new car, as we were expecting twins and we both were driving compact cars. We knew we would need an SUV, and we were hoping for something that got great mileage. We found that plus more in the Saturn Vue. We are able to go on trips and fit our double stroller easily in the back. We are also able to go to wholesale stores and load up on boxes of diapers. In addition, the room in the backseat is great, and we are able to comfortable fit in two rear facing car seats. It is a comfortable ride, and is able to handle both city driving and country road driving easily. We also got a decent amount of amenities for the price we paid! The car does have some drawbacks. It is not able to handle drivi... (more)
Story
We brought our twins home from the hospital in this car.
Pros
Great gas mileage. Lots of room in the backseat and trunk. Nice amenities at a reasonable price. Reliable
Cons
Not good in difficult terrain such as mud or snow.

Great vehicle! Has given me no major problems in all the years I have had it. Have driven it across the US and has never broken down. Just wish I would have gotten the V6 instead of the V4. Even driving in the snow and on Ice it has held up and even kept my family and I safe during an accident.
Story
Was able to go to a drive in movie and lift the back door and lay down to watch the movie.
Pros
Very safe and reliable. Great gas mileage. Lots of leg room and room in the back for hauling stuff. I have used this vehicle to move several times and never had any problems.
Cons
Not the best at pick up when accelerated but that is why I would suggest a V6.

I've always had older cars and this was my first "Modern" car. I was driving a 1989 Taurus hatchback and was amazed at the technology difference. All the computerized controls and information that can be had like tire pressure, the 'health' of the oil and the temperature inside and outside the car. This was rather new to me so I was taken aback. I will say that I don't like the OnStar function that means that the car is always being tracked, even if I don't have that service. The car runs very well and I am very happy with it. Although, compared to what I was driving it's not that surprising.
Story
When I first got the car I was running several errands. I didn't have the OnStar service and the light on it above the rear view mirror was on. This annoyed me and I wanted to turn it off so I pressed the button near it and it started talking and this totally shocked me and I couldn't really do anything about it since I was in the middle of traffic so I just burst out laughing.
Pros
It runs well, I've had no issues in the time I've had it. There stereo system is loud and clear, it has a 6 CD changer that takes MP3 burnt CDs, so I sort of have a 6 CD jukebox. The air conditioning works great, I live in Arizona so that it very important. I like all of the electronic information functions since I am somewhat of a techno nerd type person. It also is quite powerful with quick acceleration when needed.
Cons
The seat belt doesn't snap back when I take it off so it kinda hangs and I have to manually pull it for it to go back into place. The large handle like part of the hatch back is kinda loose on one side so it isn't solidly secure when I pull it up and it rattles when I close it. Not while driving, just when I close it.
