1988 Toyota Corolla - Great, no-frills vehicle
This is a great little car to get you from A to B. It isn't going to win any races or impress anybody, but for everyday travel, it can't be beat. I purchased this for a great deal, expecting I would have to invest a decent amount of money in the maintenance since the car is almost as old as I am. Lo and behold, I have had zero issues beyond needing to replace a few tires and bulbs. It also helps that this car is fairly ubiquitous, meaning finding replacement parts is a breeze and extremely affordable. My main complaint is that this car is not very powerful. With four people on board, it struggles to get up steep hills and takes a while to get up to speed.
Story
I drove this vehicle an hour to the next town over. We were all laughing about how slow it was on the freeway with other cars speeding past us.
Pros
The reliability of this car is definitely the best thing about it. For a very old car, it has exceeded my expectations in this regard.
Cons
The lack of power is the main drawback to this vehicle. It takes a while to get up to higher speeds and struggles with inclines.
2015 Toyota Corolla - Average, but reliable.
I got the Toyota Corolla almost 2 years ago now, and have used it for mostly driving to and from the store, appointments and other errands, with the occasional cross county trip. The corolla has held up extremely well for the low cost associated with it through all terrain I've put it through. The gas mileage on it is very good, and the Eco option makes it even better. Have put over 15,000 miles on it and no mechanical issues have presented themselves, if they even exist. All in all this vehicle, well maintained, I feel will hold up for many more years to come.
Story
Taking the car up the mountains, it handled incredibly well on the turns. Smooth like butter. Going down was even better, brake barely needed the car just glided along the road like it was on a guide.
Pros
Top positive things of the Corolla are that the gas mileage is very good for the price, with the added Eco option conserving even more gas. Style isn't lacking either, for being a cheaper car. Steering is very tight and Even though it is an automatic the gear shift feels very nice. The air conditioning works very well.
Cons
The cheapness of the car, while not apparent at first is very glaring once you've driven it for a while. It basically has no get up and go, no torque at all, it goes fast, but it takes it quite a long time to get there. No quick maneuvers in this vehicle. The interior is just a standard cloth upholstery which stains VERY easily, any type of sweat from sitting to long will leave a large stain, drinks or liquids spilled will be nearly impossible to get out easily. The finish on the dashboard wears thin easily, and the gloss plastic over the temperature readout picks up fingerprints like craz... (more)

The dealership is close to my house and offered pick up services, so I didn't need anyone to run me around.
