Toyota Prius c Owner Ratings & Reviews

2012 Toyota Prius c - Good car for short trips around town and cheap to operate.
The most impressive characteristic about the Prius C is its gas mileage. In freeway driving, 40-55 mpg is about my average. However, due to its small engine, performance is sluggish. The car is very maneuverable in tight spots and great for city driving. Wind and road noises are loud at high speeds but not too unbearable. Cargo space is good for a subcompact. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats can accommodate bulky and long items. I had used this car for house moving twice, and it worked out very well. My car comes well equipped with the latest technologies at the time, such as USB outlets, Bluetooth, and built-in GPS. Interior trims are nothing fancy with the feel of cheap looking plastics. Head room is good, even for tall drivers. However, front visibility is hampered by a thick pill... (more)
Story
I owned a white Prius C. While going to the mall, I parked my car between two Big black SUVs. Upon returning to the car later, I took out my remote key to gain entry, but no matter what I did, nothing happened. I called AAA for help or a tow. Luckily at the same time, one of the SUVs backed out of the parking spot and there was another white Prius! Now I always check my license plate first. ... (more)
Pros
Excellent gas mileage. Ample cargo space with 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
Cons
Under powered and poor acceleration. Noisy at freeway speeds.
2008 Toyota Prius c - Excellent quality and gas mileage.
My vehicle is a Black Prius C with light grey interior, and I am very happy with it. The biggest draw to it was obviously the gas mileage, but that's definitely not the only feature I like. Although the car is compact, it still feels very spacious, and the interior is remarkably comfortable. In fact, I routinely go for long drives and never have any issues with comfort after hours of driving. One thing that always amazes me is how quiet this car is. So quiet that occasionally I forget the engine is running. Even at highway speeds, without the air conditioning on, its very quiet. This is probably due to the build quality, which I believe to be exceptional. After 10 year of use, everything is still in perfect working condition, which says a fair amount, considering this car has spent a l... (more)
Story
On more than one occasion, I was met at a stop light by another car wanting to "race". On one occasion, that other car took the challenge a little too seriously and greatly surpassed the speed limit in view of a police officer. He was pulled over.
Pros
My top favorite feature of the Prius is that 50% of other drivers will feel the need to demonstrate how much faster and more powerful their cars are. This makes for exciting commutes. My other favorite things about the Prius c would definitely be the gas mileage, compact size, and style. I'm please with the way that it looks, I'm very happy with the ease of finding parking, and I love not really paying attention to the price of gas.
Cons
My least favorite thing about the Prius would be its lack of acceleration. Even with putting the pedal to floor, it lacks the power and speed to match other vehicles at highway speeds- this is mostly an issue when entering the freeway. Another con is the low life expectancy of the battery and price of replacement. I'm at about 80,000 miles and haven't had any issues so far, but I'm not looking forward to them either.

2012 Toyota Prius c - Broadway Toyota Scion Portland
We had a quick online chat with a representative at the dealership. She was very helpful, and set up a test drive quickly. We did not feel pressured at all to make the purchase, unlike many dealerships. They made a very competitive offer for the trade in of our old vehicle. Purchase was smooth, and I didn't feel like they "swindled" us at all.
2015 Toyota Prius c - Toyota Of Portland
It had a great deal for a Toyota Prius, and being in Portland meant there was no sales tax.
