I rode and drove in this car many times before I purchased it, so I was familiar with its strengths and weaknesses before buying it. I like that it got decent gas mileage on long drives, had a lot of space for hauling cargo, and was highly rated in terms of safety. Even for a minivan, it drove really, really well. It was safe, dependable, and did not randomly break down.
Story
I've taken a lot of fun road trips with this van, but my recent favorite was hauling around a bunch of friends who came to visit and go on brewery/restaurant tours. It was awesome to be able to stuff eight people into one car and tote them around for a day.
Pros
I used to drive a very small car, so having three times as much space to haul things around was really helpful. Also, knowing that it would start in cold weather and be able to handle slippery roads better, made me feel better about driving it. I'm short, so sitting up a little bit higher made it easier to see on narrow city streets where cars are allowed to park all the way up to the curb. It also has a larger gas tank than my old car -- 20 gallons as opposed to 12, so I can go much longer between refills.
Cons
Okay, so I may have fibbed a little when I said that it didn't randomly break down. The CD player has stopped working and, every now and again, the interior lights will flicker on and off. It's also totally not stylish, but I don't care much about that.

I never thought I would be a minivan person. After I had two kids, that changed. I purchased my Toyota Sienna and love it. My family has always been Toyota loyal, and when it came to buying a minivan, I didn't bother with any other manufacturer. Toyota is known for reliability and great resale value. This van is no exception to that rule. It is hard to find much wrong with it, as I have been very pleased.
Story
The best memories are going to vacation with three generations riding in the same vehicle and doing so comfortably.
Pros
Reliable. I have never had any major problems other than the airbag recall. Comfortable cabin and ride. It rides just like my Camry did. Quality workmanship. Joints fit together like they should without gaps. Lots of storage and/or can fit seven people. Paint. It still looks great. Folding second row seats. It is nice for storing long items in the rear.
Cons
Third row fits one adult or two kids comfortably. Folding seats. While they fold down, they do not stow down into the floor for a completely flat rear area for storing. Door jam failure. Toyota recalled 2007 Sienna's for this issue to fix the problem. The 2008 has the same problem, but a recall hasn't been issued, and to have the problem repaired, it is approx. $1,000.00 out of pocket.
