This review is of the V8 version, which has plenty of towing capacity. We use it for our small travel trailer. The SUV has been dependable and is better on gas than many other eight-cylinder vehicles. It has a comfortable ride, closer to the feel of a car than that of a truck. It allows us to carry a good deal of materials, which was necessary when we were remodeling our house.
Story
We have had a lot of fun with this vehicle. It has gone on every camping trip that weÕve taken with our RV.
Pros
It has over 100,000 miles and has needed minimal service. It has only had regular maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires, etc.). The car is very comfortable to drive. The controls are well with access to the driver. The storage area is ample, and the back seats fold down to accommodate the transportation of larger items.
Cons
The rear window is capable of opening with the remote. However, the remote will not allow the window to close. You must put the key in the ignition and close the window using the switch on the dash. The vehicle maneuvers very well in snow and soft surfaces. It traverses through many places where other cars would get stuck.

Love the overall look and feel of this car. Has great space and storage inside. Good for long trips with lots of people. Mileage got worse as the car got older though. I have put over 100,000 miles on this car, and it is still running strong. 4Runners really hold their value despite their age, because they are made so well. If kept and tuned, these SUVs will run for what may seem like forever.
Story
Went off roading with friends on the Jeep trails near Blacksburg, Va. Had a great time.
Pros
Great size and shape for driving around lots of people. Great for off roading or highway trips. Easy to change the oil by yourself. Great seats that are easy to clean. Easy to put after-market electronics in. Great driving feel, very responsive. Toyota has great customer service and used car warranties.
Cons
Lower miles per gallon than most vehicles, especially as time goes on. Speedometer was off. Sometimes the car would not start in cold weather. Had speaker issues. Seats are a tad uncomfortable. Wish there were more comfort features (heated seats. Cloth seats were difficult to clean.

Shelor has always made me feel as if I am a member of their family. Their dealers have a knack for knowing exactly when they're needed, and when it is best for them to stay away. One thing I hate about other dealerships is when I just want to wander around and I'm accosted by people trying to sell me something; not help me.

This dealer is such a great place to buy any car to suit any persons needs. The facility is in a convenient location near other businesses of interest and is easy to find. The salesmen are friendly and focus on the needs of the customer. The salesman provide reasonable prices without the unpleasant pressure commonly found in the used car industry.
