I originally purchased my Yaris because my family all have Toyotas and said that they were great vehicles. I liked the idea of the Yaris because it seemed like a mix between a RAV 4 and a typical car. It had the hatchback and was supposed to have great mileage. I liked the idea of having a hatchback for ease of use verses a trunk, as it's sometimes hard to reach back into a trunk to reach items, groceries in particular. I liked that the Yaris was a bit smaller and had a good turn radius. I had already decided on purchasing this car before going in to the dealership, which I see now was a mistake. I would have been much happier with a more typical car. I have now had my Yaris for going on two years and I wish I could trade it in for something different. As soon as I'm financially able I... Story
One of my favorite memories was helping a friend move and stuffing as much as we could into every nook and cranny of my car. It did hold a surprising amount, but it was rather comical to see my tiny car filled to bursting with an assortment of clothes and furniture.
Pros
My top favorite features of the car is the turn radius and the fact that it is small enough to safely miss near-collisions if another driver swings in front of me unexpectedly.
Cons
The vehicle itself (mainly interior) is extremely uncomfortable. The seats, having the clock behind the steering wheel (I'm still not used to this, even after nearly two years), the cup holders being so far down (sounds silly, but when you are commuting all the time that is a huge comfort thing), not having an armrests, the brakes, the air conditioning is also starting to have some issues.

The mileage is amazing, especially on highways. The turn radius is like nothing I have every experienced, and I know it will be the thing I will miss most if I ever have to get a new car. For being a compact sedan, the headroom is spacious, along with the backseat. Three people can sit very comfortably back there and not feel too cramped. The speedometer is in the center of the dashboard, rather than behind the steering wheel. It took a while to get used to, but now it's a feature I love.
Story
Driving on the beach for the first time was incredibly scary. I kept thinking we were going to get stuck because of the low frame. Thankfully we didn't get stuck before we came up on 4-5 big trucks parked on the beach. That's where we hit a soft spot of sand the wrong way, and we weren't going anywhere. One of the trucks came over before we were even out of the car to ask for help.
Pros
The turn radius, the speakers auto adjust the volume when the engine revs (volume increases when the engine is loud, and decreases when the car is idling or quiet), and the push-open cup holders in the dashboard. The mileage that I get is great for the car being the year it is. The thing that sold me on the car is the overall shape of it. It kind of resembles a jelly bean, which I find fun.
Cons
While the backseat is large, when you add a car seat or two, there is no room for any extra passengers. I currently have two car seats in the backseat, so it went from seating five people to seating four, and there's no possibility of three car seats fitting if need be. The frame sits very low to the ground, making it difficult, if not impossible, to perform our own oil changes. It also makes it risky going over any obstacles in the road, such as high speed bumps or small limbs that any other car would be able to clear.
