For the durability and reliability the car is inexpensive. Any parts that do need replacement after general wear are easily replaceable at any Chevy location. The leather interior has held up well to weather and to outdoor adventures. The seats are comfortable for long drives or for long lunches.
Story
I took my Aveo on a backpacking trip and she did very well on unpaved roads in the national forest.
Pros
The Chevy Aveo is a small car that fits easily into any compact spot, even if the two compact spots next to it are filled by SUV's. The trunk has plenty of space for all your adventures. Larger items like surfboards would need to go on the roof, but I managed to fit an unassembled full-sized IKEA bookcase in the trunk with the back seat folded down and the front passenger seat pushed forward.
Cons
I've had to replace the cheap plastic door handles because the doors do not unlock automatically. This car is an economy car, you won't find a lot of get up and go but it will get you from Point A to Point B without costing you an arm and a leg.

2005 Chevrolet Aveo - A Decent bargain, but overall a headache

At the time of purchase and for what I could afford, this car was great. It's fuel efficient, easy to drive/park, and didn't break the bank. I was extremely happy with my purchase for the first 50,000 miles, but since then this vehicle has been nothing but headaches. The check engine light is consistently coming on, and the car is in the shop getting something repaired at least 2 times a year. The most expensive was a few months ago, where my accelerator sensor pedal was faulty and it cost me almost $1,500 to fix that and other related problems. My air conditioning no longer pushes cold air and I was quoted over $1,000 to fix that as well. Be careful when purchasing this vehicle.
Story
I drove this car round trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas a few times. The only problem I ever had on these trips was 1 flat tire.
Pros
This car is easy to drive, easier to park, and didn't break the bank.
Cons
Doesn't last long, expect to have it in and out of the shop quite a bit.

Sellers were friendly. Staff helped us find a car from half the state away. They found what we were looking for and drove the car 300 miles for us to view it. Easy to talk to. Got us approved for a loan.
