Decent starter car
The Hyundai Accent is a functional, if unspectacular, vehicle. Reliability, comfort, performance and fuel economy are all just fine. The car is about as middle of the road as you can find. It does nothing spectacularly but doesn't have many major faults. The price usually reflects this adequately. The safety scores are the biggest red flag. I did not feel very safe going around town in this car at highway speeds. The car is also very small and does not get much respect on the road. It was scary to drive near large trucks or in places with poor visibility. The maintenance was reasonable, but the car did require significant work around 60,000 miles, around $900, which was almost 10% of the purchase price. The interior is pretty middling but what you would expect in this segment

Cheap and reliable car
I like this vehicle because it is really good on gas (27 MPG city/ 33 MPG highway). It is also a cheap car with a Blue Book value of about $4,500 and cheap to maintain and repair. I have been driving this car for almost a year now and have had no problems besides the occasional flat tire or fluid checks.

Salesperson was very patient and provided excellent customer service. Salesperson did not push for purchases to be made by the end of the day. In addition, the salesperson was able to listen to what I wanted in a car and did the best he could to find a car that met those requirements. Salesperson was in constant contact with me throughout the entire process to let me know about the status of the car I wanted. Overall, it was a painless process.
