We have had our Hyundai Sonata for over two years now, and we haven't had any maintenance issues. We have not had to do any major repairs, either. It accelerates really nicely, almost as well as our Honda with a V6 engine. The only issue at all we've had was that it won't fit three car seats in the back seat, so we had to get a minivan when the third baby came along, but we use this car as a commuter car now.
Story
Our family, when we had two kids, went up to Apple Hill in Northern California to spend time with family. We enjoyed looking out the windows as we drove at the beautiful fall foliage, and the trunk had room for the double stroller to push the kids for the day. On the way home, we had bought a pie and some other treats, and because the ride is smooth, we didn't worry about them getting too jost... (more)
Pros
The Hyundai looks high-quality, and is roomy. I like that ours is white, and it has nice crisp lines on the outside, as well as edgy-looking headlights. It feels luxury to us, since we previously had a 2003 Honda Accord, and we feel like our money was well-spent in getting it because we haven't had to do a ton of repairs or anything to continue using it. We feel safe and like there is plenty of room in it. The trunk has a good amount of space, for a small car, and the interior also isn't cramped in the back. I like the cloth seats better than leather, and they have also cleaned really easi... (more)
Cons
The only issue we've had was that we can't fit three car seats that we already have in the vehicle. We probably could've if we got different car seats, though.

I'm really happy with this car. I bought it used with only 22,000 miles on the odometer. Since I only drive about 5,000 miles a year, this has been a godsend. I like the way the car drives. It's smooth and comfortable. Many of my friends have noted that, and some have much nicer and newer vehicles. The car rides quietly for the most part. I don't hear squeaks and rattles at all. New tires have helped make the ride and sound much better. The interior is spacious and comfortable. This 2009 Hyundai Sonata is a peeve - a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle, which is a good thing. Look it up on Wikipedia. It's a practical car with a huge trunk with fold down seats for pass through items, like a large painting I had to transport. It's reliable, comfortable and the styling is just fine! I would de... (more)
Story
Loading a huge painting into the back to take home. I had purchased the painting on Craigslist and had to drive to Sonoma County to pick it up. Thank heavens for the fold down seats. I fit the painting into the car. Otherwise I would have been up the creek.
Pros
Smooth ride. Comfortable. Huge trunk. Seats are comfortable. Leg room in the back seat.
Cons
Fuel economy is not the best on this 2009 Hyundai Sonata. It gets about 19mpg city and 24 freeway, but at least it runs on regular instead of premium as my previous car did. Because it's a four banger and a peeve, it doesn't have to pick up going uphill. I had an Infiniti before and it few. This Sonata - eh. But, I'm not in a hurry anymore.

When my husband and I walked in I was very nervous. We were there to buy a car but didn't know if we could drive one out without a down payment. They worked with us and we took our car home with no money down. The only bad thing was they took the car back after a week until my job was verified. I was off on medical leave and had just returned back to work. The good thing was that they cave us a "loan" car until things were settled. The loan car was a better model and had better features, too! They even filled it up with gas before we took it. The experience was a good one. We got our car back and have had it over a year now and are still happy.

The salesperson, Charlie, made the dealership so good. I went to other dealers and they were jerking me around. Charlie was honest and was able to work out a deal for me that made everyone happy. They were also very quick and had everything ready for me when it was time to leave the dealership.
