I bought this car a few years back, and I can say that I have been very satisfied with it overall. To my surprise, it was very reliable. For the entire time that I have had the car, I did not have to do any major repairs. I made sure to maintain the car properly (oil change, spark plug replacement, air filter, etc.), and that ensured that the car ran properly. The car was manual so I did not have to worry about any transmission issues. I was also satisfied with the performance of the car. The power is perfect for a midsize sedan, and riding the car was very smooth. One of the nicest thing about the car is how smooth it is at high speeds on the freeway. At times you will be going 90-100 mph and it fells like you are going 65 mph.
Story
A few days after I bought the car, I went down to San Diego with my family. It was a two-hour drive, but that's when I started to feel like I bought a good car. Driving the car on the freeway was very easy and very smooth. It was a very memorable trip. San Diego is one of the nicest places to go to. The car made the trip even better.
Pros
I do all the maintenance myself and working on the car was very easy from changing the oil to changing the brakes. The clutch shifts very smoothly. Space. The car is very comfortable to sit and drive in. The trunk is spacious and can carry many things. Spare tire is easy to get to. Multiple USB and AUX ports. Makes it easy to charge phone or listen to music.
Cons
The controls on the seats are not electric. Would have made it easier to adjust the seat to a more comfortable position. Not very economical. Low MPG efficiency relative to other mid-size sedans. Cannot open the trunk with a key, rather only from the side of the driver door. A/C setting does not have an auto setting. Cannot set what temperature you would like to have the car at.

The Hyundai Sonata has been a well-manufactured machine. The car was purchased with 40,000 miles driven, but it drove like it was new. The engine was quick to respond to the gas pedal, and it was very easy to accelerate from a stop to maneuver in traffic. The roominess of the cab was fantastic, and it was very comfortable for myself and four family members. The trunk space was another great highlight of the vehicle. The size of the trunk seems small when looking at it from the outside, but once you put items into the trunk, it has a lot of room. It is especially nice to transport items when you put the back seat down and utilize the whole back section of the vehicle.
Story
The most memorable instance involving the Sonata was when we first purchased the vehicle. It was raining hard, and we had no other vehicle. It was our hope that we would find a vehicle that same day. We were test driving this particular car, and I was able to punch the gas at the stop light. The handling and responsiveness of the vehicle, even in rainy conditions, was amazing. After that ... Pros
The best features of the Sonata were the roominess of the vehicle and the power of the engine. The space inside the car allowed much elbow room and comfort. Even if a person is over six feet tall, it gives enough room to stretch the legs. The engine would perform at a step of the gas pedal, and it had plenty of power to accelerate on the freeway.
Cons
One negative feature of the vehicle was the plain color. In the used lot, the white Sonata was the only color available. A gray or blue would have been more appealing. The car also had 40,000 miles driven, so it would have been nice to have a Sonata with lower miles initially.

When my husband and I walked in I was very nervous. We were there to buy a car but didn't know if we could drive one out without a down payment. They worked with us and we took our car home with no money down. The only bad thing was they took the car back after a week until my job was verified. I was off on medical leave and had just returned back to work. The good thing was that they cave us a "loan" car until things were settled. The loan car was a better model and had better features, too! They even filled it up with gas before we took it. The experience was a good one. We got our car back and have had it over a year now and are still happy.

The salesperson, Charlie, made the dealership so good. I went to other dealers and they were jerking me around. Charlie was honest and was able to work out a deal for me that made everyone happy. They were also very quick and had everything ready for me when it was time to leave the dealership.
