Great gas economy.
While the car is small and larger or taller users might find it a bit cramped or find that using it to move from one place or another isn't it's strong suit this vehicle really shines when it comes to fuel economy. On the interstate I get about 35 mpg and in city it is about 30. While not spacious the car is still a four door despite having a spoiler on it thus giving it a sporty look with out sacrificing utility and ease of access that you gain from having four doors. Despite it's light weight and small size it performs admirably in the snow and wet roads. This car can get upwards of 80 mph before she begins to shake, I am not sure if that is because of a faulty component some where or if that is just how much the car can take. The interior is set up fairly well with a lift-able arm rest for extra storage, spacious side compartments on the doors and seats that can slide all of the way back to for those with longer legs. This cars biggest fault is it's lack of cruise control making long trips harder due to your constant need to monitor speed.

In it's prime it was a reliable, fun car!
The car was very fun to drive and (for the price) the hemi was a nice addition especially for the price range of under twenty thousand dollars. I wish the stock tires came bigger just to lift it off the ground some as I, and many others, have experienced issues with broken motor mounts as the car scrapes quite badly in inclinate areas. The gas mileage was great initially now with some miles on it is quite rough. We never really had any "shop" worthy problems that could be fixed by an amateur and the internet. The comfort level for this vehicle was expansive considering it's small size. The smooth braking system helps with that characteristic. Strong power steering helped as well. It was small and sensitive enough (without being excessive) that many accidents were avoided and small parking spaces properly maneuvered. The safety features were all seen as sturdy...and well basic but efficient. The only real advice I would put out on purchasing a Dodge Neon would be take care of it. The car will treat you will as long as kept properly maintenance and care for it. Just watch the transmission, motor mounts, oil, spark plugs, and fuel injectors and you should be good to go!

American car manufactures need to try harder
I like that the paint and the interior have held up over time. I dislike that the car is very basic - there's only automatic windows for the front windows. The car is inferior to another non-American car I owned previously in terms of functionality. The car has held up for 127,000 miles, but I'm doubtful it will last longer. Even though the car has been well cared for, it rattles, so I don't think the structural integrity is as good as it could be. I do, however, like that it seems mostly reliable, but repairs at this point would be too expensive to be worth it. The air conditioner no longer works and requires a major removal of the dashboard to repair the problem (not a simple recharge). The heater works fine. The car handles reasonably well. It's probably okay for a lower-priced car that you don't plan to drive for long.
