Durable, dependable and cost efficient
I paid cash for it from a friend back in 2011 and it is already an old car being that it is 1998 Dodge Neon, yet it is very dependable, reliable, cheap to fix and the city taxes on it as well as even emission pricing and insurance costs. I have driven many many many miles on it taking my husband to work to far places from home on a daily basis, all of my doctors appointments, my autistic sons appointments for everything. I have had to repair very little considering how much I have driven it and how many miles I have put on it. When I have to repair it, it is usually cheap for the parts and for the mechanic. It really isn't too hard to fix. I like that it is made of metal, unlike the newer cars, thank goodness cause I was rear-ended 2 times in a 3 month period. There were no dents whatsoever on my car-yet the 2 people that hit the rear end of my car-their newer made vehicles were all smooshed in and I am sure it costs them a whole lot of money to repair their vehicle from their mistake. I am so glad that I have this lil dodge neon, and an older made car. The metal makes me feel safer and obviously, if I get rear-ended, it hasn't even hurt my car. The only thing I do not like about this car is it is so small. I prefer a larger, higher up off the ground vehicle. I have recently even drove it to a huge big move across the country, from Arizona to South Carolina, where I now live. It made it here with no problems. I would definitely recommend this lil car to a friend. The size is the Only thing I feel uncomfortable with, with this car.

American car manufactures need to try harder
I like that the paint and the interior have held up over time. I dislike that the car is very basic - there's only automatic windows for the front windows. The car is inferior to another non-American car I owned previously in terms of functionality. The car has held up for 127,000 miles, but I'm doubtful it will last longer. Even though the car has been well cared for, it rattles, so I don't think the structural integrity is as good as it could be. I do, however, like that it seems mostly reliable, but repairs at this point would be too expensive to be worth it. The air conditioner no longer works and requires a major removal of the dashboard to repair the problem (not a simple recharge). The heater works fine. The car handles reasonably well. It's probably okay for a lower-priced car that you don't plan to drive for long.

Loved It!!!! Very reliable vehicle!
My experience in owning the 2002 Dodge Neon was the most wonderful vehicle I have ever owned. It has tremendous gas mileage; I only had to fill up maybe three times a month or less. There was plenty of space and room in the trunk for extra items. The seats were the most comfortable seats I have had. When it came to the motor it was great! I never had to do any work to my vehicle due to anything failing. The car had a great sport body and was a eye popper! The buying price was very reasonable. It was the best car I have ever owned to this day. The seats featured seat warmers and had comfortable seating. The vehicle was extremely reliable for long trips; I went to Dallas Texas from Arkansas and only spent $30 worth of gas. If I had the chance to buy another Dodge Neon I would in a heartbeat. There is plenty of room in the backseat to where you can get things in and out with no problem. The braking and acceleration was excellent in the dodge Neon, the brakes were quick to stop and it would get up and go with out a problem. I would highly recommend this car to anyone!
