A reliable and fun vehicle that shouldn't be pushed too hard.
The 2010 Ford Focus has a number of features that are very desirable, including SYNC technology, a USB port, colorful interior lighting, and a spacious trunk. While it gets excellent gas mileage on the highway, the fuel economy for local driving is less than desirable. There are a number of interior rattles, indicating some limitations in build quality, but the electronic components have never been faulty. The seats are comfortable, and the dashboard has a sleek look. I have driven this car across the country and up and down the California coast, and despite some quirks, it has been a very reliable and fun experience owning this car.

Ford Focus - Dependable after all these years
The Ford Focus (2004) in ZX3 trim is, by far, one of the most rock-solid automobiles that I have ever owned, and this is coming from someone who has owned more than his share of vehicles, from my old beater 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, through various Asian imports (including multiple Altimas). And I always make an effort to pick rental cars that I have never driven before. In short, I have a fair share of experience driving all manner of makes and models of non-luxury automobiles, and this variety of the Ford Focus is up their with the best! A big part of the Focus hatchback experience is the surprising acceleration from the 2.2 liter engine, which has shocked the drivers of BMW M3s with it get-up-and-go. And the feeling that you get cornering in this version of the Focus hatchback is something akin to tearing through a supermarket in a go-kart. Fun, fun, fun! Of course, if the car was unreliable, it would have died on the side of the road, with a white rag hanging out of the driver's side window, like a hanky of surrender, on any one of a number of trips across the desert. But this bad boy just keeps trucking along after all these years!

Gets me from point A to point B.
It performed well at first, but soon after getting the car, the driver side mirror came off. And, the same thing happened to a friend with the exact same car. This leads me to think that the build of the vehicle is pretty poor. Items in the interior weren't very well made either. The middle armrest has broken and the seatbelt covers also came off. So, all in all I'd say that the attention to detail was not very good on this make and model. It drives okay. It can be loud when driving, even when I've just gotten it repaired. Unlike newer cars that seem to be very quiet when they are operating. I'm grateful for it because It gets me from A to B, but I don't get excited about driving. It's very basic - no bells and whistles at all. The design is basic and not a lot of creativity went into making this car. The tires were also an issue. It seemed as though I was always having to get the tires repaired or changed. And, I didn't like how the dealership overcharged for repairs and also tried to get me to buy services that weren't really needed. Overall the car is fine. It does what it needs to do - but I don't think I would recommend it as a purchase. It wouldn't be my first suggestion.

It offered a lifetime warranty on the drive train of my vehicle. They also have a very good reputation in the area for used cars and delivering great service.
