Excellent truck with plenty of power
My GMC Sierra is a very well built truck. The interior is very spacious with leather, all the power options, Satellite radio and on star. I purchased the upgraded Z82 package made by American luxury coach with upgraded interior panels, a leveling kit and large wheels and tires. The down side is the fuel economy is lack luster especially when towing a boat and the ball joints on the front end are weak for the sheer size of the truck, causing alignment issues.

The vehicle I've been looking for
I have been buying new cars for years, looking for the no compromise vehicle to fit my lifestyle. After constant let down, I decided to go out and buy a cheap used truck for work and commuting, until research would bring me to my next "perfect" new car purchase. I settled on a 2008 GMC Sierra in bare-bones work truck trim. One year later and this vehicle continues to surprise me. I purchased the vehicle with 130k miles. Despite what most would consider high mileage, this is the smoothest running motor I have ever operated. It has plenty of power and the transmission has never struggled to utilize that power without constant shifting, hunting for the right gear. The ride quality is surprisingly comfortable, and not just for a truck. I would rate it higher than the Jeeps, Toyotas, and Subarus I have prior experience with. Interior space is more than adequate, as can be expected from a full size truck. Two kids and a dog in the back, and two adults up front, are comfortable enough for a lengthy road trip. The bed of course leaves plenty of room for the accompanying luggage. Buying a full sized truck was initially a point of concern for matters of convenience in parking and city commuting. I regret now not buying a full-size sooner. Despite it's size, it is easy to maneuver and feels as though it turns no less tight than my previous Toyota SUV. The fit and finish is adequate. It is a rugged interior, which I expected when purchasing a base work truck model. The materials used look cheap, and the labels on stereo controls are faded or entirely worn. The steering wheel too is showing signs of age. Despite it's lackluster appearance, all controls continue to function without issue. The paint on the exterior of the vehicle is showing signs of loss of clear coat. This may be due to neglect from previous owner, but still shouldn't be as evident on only a ten year old vehicle. All negatives to this truck are aesthetic. I have no doubt this truck will run for a long time, and I am no longer hunting for my next new vehicle.
