Does its job, but not well.
The overall performance of the car is good. The size is not good for transporting people or anything. Due to its age, it will need constant maintenance. The car is very susceptible to leaks, both oil and coolant. The car will get you to where you need with no issues, as long as you take care of it. It has decent fuel mileage for the type of car it is. The basic trim has no amenities. No cruise control, sunroof, or automatic locks. Even for having high mileage, the engine runs well. The interior is cheap and entirely plastic. The air conditioning works well, especially in the Florida summer. This car is good for basic transportation and nothing else, it does not even look too great to begin with. No issues with paint peeling or fading. The car rides very well for such a small car, not too rough over bumps and small amounts of road noise from traveling on a highway. The headlights oxidize very rapidly from clear plastic to yellow, therefore you need to constantly refurbish the cheap plastic they are made of. Great car for a teenager getting their first car, not so great for an adult with real life needs and demands.

Stressed and annoyed.
My vehicle is the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, in red, with boss motorsports wheels installed and 20% tint installed on the back and side Windows. Overall, it is a good car, and my negative feelings are more based upon the aftermarket installations made to it (bought it with boss wheels and tint already in place). It catches your eye because I believe from the front in greatly resembles a personal favorite of mine, the 3000GT. Over time however, the wheels have loosened the sway bars and requires me to frequently buy new tires. The sway bars became so bad it would not pass state inspection to renew my tags, thus I also incurred several tickets from this. The car itself though, handles great, has okay acceleration for an economy/sport car, and gets pretty great gas mileage. I am a man, however, and I do not enjoy the fact that the car is so feminine in appearance. Most drivers I observe driving the same vehicle are female. This can be a double-edged sword; however, as it gets a lot of female attention. Many women have told me I drive their 'dream car.'
