Good, safe and reliable
This is a very good vehicle that has a decent resale value. I brought it used in 2010 with about 50,000 miles. I have had for 8 years, and it now has about 140,000 miles. It is very dependable and reliable with few maintenance issues. I had to replace brake pads but that happens. I have a few other low cost issues but nothing surprising or very expensive. I love the four-wheel drive during the Maine winter storms. I feel very confident driving this vehicle on slippery roads. One minor complaint is the back seat row as there does not appear to be a lot space for people or their feet. The fuel mileage is not great. The seats in the back fold flat when you need to transport long or bulky items. The engine is powerful and does not hesitate when going uphill. The cargo area in back is fairly small, but you should notice that before you choose this vehicle so I was okay with it. It has a roof rack which has comes in handy at times. You sit higher than most cars and I like that higher vantage point in traffic. The driver seat is comfortable. I like the design the vehicle, it certainly looks good. The suspension is great as the rides have always been comfortable. It has two charging outlets for your phones or whatever.

Great Adventurous Truck
I have really enjoyed my Nissan Xterra to date. I purchased it used in 2010 and have since put on about 90,000 miles taking it all over North America. It has had it's share of issues (some of which were hidden by the dealer I purchased it from) but nothing major that has made me regret the purchase. It is capable both on road and off. Gas mileage is not terrible, but definitely not that great, either. There's lots of space inside for gear, equipment, people and pets. In fact, my dog loves the truck. She has lots of room in the back seat or back cargo area. The vehicle has lots of options for customization/upgrades, including lots of off-road equipment. The interior is comfortable, but not flashy. You won't find too many bells and whistles, just a rugged, bare bones interior. You wouldn't want to tear a leather seat out on the trail, anyways. The engine is powerful, the truck is quick to accelerate and it is easy to pass other vehicles on the highway. It is also reliable. Road noise is slightly noisier compared to other vehicles, but it is also dependent on tires used. The ride is smooth, but not luxurious like a Tahoe or something like that. Off road it is very capable right out of the factory.

Great purchase for the on and off road enthusiast.
It has been an amazing vehicle. I've only had it for around 6 months but it has been phenomenal, everything from the ride comfort to how high it sits to the way the four wheel drive engages before I ascend the mountain, this thing can do it all and more. It drives well on the road and even better, off of the road. I wouldn't change a thing. This is the second generation, so I think they were able to perfect it.
