Good
My 1986 Porsche 944 was a non turbo model, red and had a 3 speed automatic transmission. I bought it back in high school and owned it for over 12 years. The main reason I bought it was a lady in my neighborhood had it for sale, it was in very nice shape inside and out and it looked nice. The old leather seats it had were very comfortable and they smelled like a fancy shoe store. The little old red car had plenty of room for me... I moved out to Chicago for a year and the big 80's glass hatch/trunk deal worked out fine for putting groceries in and she made it through a Chicago winter just fine. The car was very well built and the doors had a safe like "clunk" to them when you closed them. I am an auto mechanic, I do my own work on my cars and the maintenance is what made me sell the car a few years ago... The car was a pain to work on. The engine had a lot of weird odd ball seals that were starting to leak after 20 years of being on the car... After I replaced all of the engine seals/belts I was more than ready to sell the car, I had had my fun with it. The car wasn't fast in a straight line but it sure liked to go through turns on a twisty road. Also, the automatic transmission sapped a lot of the fun out of driving the car... On top of that the auto trans made the car barley get 20 mpg on the highway. If it would have been a manual shift car I probably would still own it. I always viewed my 944 as kind of an "all show with no go" kind of car... None the less I really enjoyed the car for the years I had it.

A mixed bag.
The Porsche 944 is a fun little car. I liked that it was a four-cylinder and got pretty good gas mileage. It had plenty of pep. The sunroof added a nice touch to it in the summer. The rear tail of the car made it look cheap with the rubber on it. The front bumper also had rubber. But, it's not as bad as the back of the car. It just distracts from the overall appearance of the car. Otherwise, it's pretty good looking. I get a lot of "HELLLLLLLLLLO's" in it.
