A great vehicle with no problems
My 1996 Chevrolet Astro Van Cargo was one of the best vehicles that I have ever owned. Unlike cars that I've owned in the past, it was very useful and never broke down. For three years, I had the pleasure to own this reliable vehicle. Driving across country several times and assisting me in my work were many of the great features that many of my friends would often compliment me about - "Wow, that thing is still running?" The most trouble I had was simple repairs, like changing each and every spark plug, having six flat tires (I'd like to blame that on the temperature changes between states during the winters of 2011 and 2012). Aesthetically, it wasn't the most pleasing of vehicles, but when we ripped out the seats, tore out the lining and replaced it with neoprene tiles, the vehicle became our mobile home for vacations in rough terrain like the mountains of Georgia, the steep inclines of San Francisco, and the treacherous unpaved roads of Maine. In the future, I'd gladly purchase this vehicle again, as maintenance is incredibly simple. With only two housing bolts to loosen, I was able to access the engine and replace sensors in a single afternoon, rather than some of the pains I experienced with my old Ford Taurus.

In my opinion, the Independent trucks are the best truck you can buy. I always get the silver stage tens. They have a really wide hangar, meaning that there is more space to grind on. They come with soft bushings, making it easy to turn. They look great. They grind like butter! Smoothest truck I have ever grinded, especially once they've been worn in a little. They are affordable, and last FOREVER. I have gone through three decks on the same trucks, and they are still perfect. They grind better every day. Don't even look like breaking any time soon.

Respect for it's durability.
I needed a vehicle to deliver the mail under a government contract, and although the Chevy Astro Van is poorly rated by Consumer Reports magazine, I've owned two of them since 2000. Ideally, I needed a vehicle with a shift at the steering wheel (hard to find: only the Ford Taurus, some older Oldsmobiles and Chevy Caprices and the Ford Explorer comes to mind. I NEED this feature to deliver the mail, as I am sitting in the PASSENGER seat as I drive along, steering with my left hand and using my LEFT foot on the gas\brake.) It has MANUAL door locks\window roll-ups, and mirrors, which is also good for my work, and very hard to find. My vehicle is the CARGO version, which has no seats besides the two passenger seats upfront. Lots of room. BAD POINTS: poorly made door locks\handles. You can actually wreck the door locks and handles very easily. Cheap "plastic-like" metal. I've actually torn the side sliding door completely OFF (it fell into the road as I drove away!). There is very poor wheel clearance. (The Ford Explorer is much better for this.) Mud\ice\snow and a tight turn will cause the front tires to scrape the wheel housings! It's All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), which is also not easy to find. Makes it much easier to plow through snow\mud while delivering mail. The transmission just failed recently, but it lasted 215,000 miles (A Dodge Caravan will only last 100,000 miles!) I've never had an engine fail or blow-out on an Astro Van (unlike my AWFUL Pontiac 6000 station wagon : I replaced the engine after it blew, and then it failed again within 100,000 miles more!) The FUEL PUMP is junk on the Astro : I've replaced it twice in three years! You must NOT let the gas tank get more than half empty to try and avoid this.
