Good and reliable starter vehicle
There were many aspects about this car that I liked. For a smaller SUV, it offered plenty of space in both the front and back seats. The trunk allowed for plenty of towing/toting space for anything from groceries to handling hefty residential moves. The body of the vehicle was also very sturdy, making it able to withstand minor bumps as well as major accidents with minimal cosmetic damage. The interior was easy to clean and was made out of sturdy materials, that when taken care of, wound up lasting through three owners and over twenty years (with well over 200,000 miles on the vehicle). There wasn't anything that has been an immediate dislike for the vehicle itself. It ran well for me and lasted a long time, even though I had purchased it with 150,000 miles on it.

Blazer surprised with performance
I had a Blazer in the 1990s, and it was a good car but had very stiff handling. It was difficult to imagine it ever becoming a day-to-day commute vehicle like a passenger car because I just wasn't comfortable driving around in it for long lengths of time. This Blazer, the 2004, was actually a very comfortable ride and felt more like a luxury car. At the same time, it remained responsive, allowing me to drive in snow and black ice when necessary without missing a beat. Another improvement that I greatly appreciated was the electronics. The sound system was better, and I love being able to access my cell phone through the vehicle instead of having to hold a phone up like the old days.

Good work horse.
The 1999 Chevy Blazer is a great workhorse. Low maintenance cost and keeps running for a long time. It's spacious for being a small SUV. It is easy to maintain and works well. I like that the rear seats fold down flat giving plenty of space in the rear cargo area. I've hauled lumber, mulch, bicycles, and even Christmas trees in mine.
