A classic beauty
I bought this car with 71k on the odometer. That was six years ago and it still runs like a top. One carburetor rebuild and an alternator is all it has needed. While the 79 Nova doesn't have the prettiest exterior, and isn't one of the more prized years of Chevy, It still has a classic style and is considerably tougher looking in combination with some nice wheels. This car drives fantastic. The 305 small block isn't an overly powerful motor, but when working in tandem with a 3 speed automatic transmission it can still get up and go. I drove many a mountain pass with this car and it accelerates up the steepest of grades. I really love owning this car. It even does well in the winter with a good set of snow tires, because the thing is so short. I get about 15 MPG in the city and 18MPG on the highway. I was worried it would be a money pit when I bought it, but I have put 40 thousand miles on it. This Nova has really been a great buy and an excellent car to own.

Basic commuter
This is a basic American commuter 4 door. I have the basic level of trim but it does everything I ask of a car, and does so with a fair amount of fuel economy (about 29 miles per gallon American) and a comfortable price point. The fact that my vehicle has performed satisfactorily for over 20 years is a testament to it's quality. It also, due to it's limited appeal to younger and performance or aesthetically driven buyers and comparatively small engine, fairly inexpensive to insure even for a young male such as myself.

Good basic car
The Chevy Nova was car built in California and had a Toyota engine. It was a good first car. It looked nice and was reliable. The seats were comfortable and the interior was roomy for a compact. The trunk was ok. After 5 years there was some rattling but there were no blink spots. The windows were rather large which was great. The car was never in the shop except for the normal oil change. It was great on mileage as it had a small engine. The acceleration was ok. The brakes were great and the car was responsive. It had 4 wheel drive which was great in the snow. I felt very safe driving it.
