Good and reliable
My Venture is a great van. We have had a few issues regarding the air conditioning and the fuel pump, but I am almost positive it is because we used the vehicle while living in Mexico for a year, which put both the air conditioning and the fuel pump under higher than usual strain.
Music is really important to me, and I love the sound system. Nothing fancy, but the sound quality is great. We also used this vehicle while I worked in an orphanage. We have piled tons of kids in, and the van has been through quite a beating. It's really easy to clean inside and out. It's really roomy inside as well. We were able to move all of our possessions back to the united states without needing a trailer.
We have had an issue with a tire, but I am pretty sure it is not a problem with the vehicle per say, but with the tire we put on it.
The roads in Mexico where we lived are TOUGH, with tons of potholes and speed bumps. Not any car/truck/van would be able to withstand the beating we gave our venture. Even with all the miles we have on it, it rides great.
I can't say it has been my favorite vehicle, and we have had some problems, but our Venture has been reliable and has made some really long trips. At a good price, I would buy another one.

Decent vehicle to get around town
The van is a little beat up. It need suspension work, has some rust along the bottom edges of the exterior body, and it has few tears on the interior material lining the ceiling. Some of the interior plastic parts are falling off, and the rear external door handle is broken off. Besides that, the engine still runs great and it has been reliable for the 50 mile daily round trip. Most of the damage is cosmetic, so the car still runs fine without needing the repairs.

Roomy and Functional
The Chevrolet Venture is roomy, functional, and fairly reliable. The 8 seats and flexible seating configuration is great for large families or for someone that needs to carry a lot of cargo. Even when all seats are in use, there is still substantial cargo space in the Extended models behind the rear seat. In the 2003 model, there is only one set of LATCH anchors and the middle seats only have lap belts, which can be limiting, depending on the ages of people you need to seat. There is, however, an integrated child seat in one seat that is handy. It handles fairly well for a large vehicle and has adequate acceleration. The crash test ratings are sub-par, which is one area of concern. Fuel economy is very average - I get around 19/20 in town and the best I've done on the highway is about 24. We have done some repairs outside regular maintenance - one several hundred dollar repair for an engine seal, but overall the vehicle has been fairly reliable for its age and mileage. The items that tend to go wrong with this vehicle in general are wheel bearings and wiper arm assembly. We've also had some trouble out of the automatic door sliding and locking mechanism that doesn't affect drivability but does affect convenience.
