Extremely happy with my truck
I have over 60k miles and it is still pulling strong. We use it for biking, hauling, back- roading and general transportation. The unique feature is the converter option. It becomes a flatbed truck when needed, yet it is also a smooth ride with a luxury interior. It looks and feels like an SUV on the road, even when carrying a heavy load. The outside panels have held up much better than expected considering the beating we have put it through. Pain and exterior trim still look like new.

This vehicle is my dream car. Very nice design and durable for intended needs.
The design of the Avalanche is like no other truck. The quality of the leather (interior) is excellent. The miles are over 200,000 and the condition of the motor and other parts still perform very well. There has not been any major car repairs, only standard wear and tear. The exterior (paint) and cladding has held together very well. The paint has not faded, and the cladding has been maintained with minimum care. The vehicles interior is full leather, powered memory seats and added on other amenities gives the feel of a luxury vehicle, which it is, but it easily keeps converts to the functionality of a truck when needed. The drives are always smooth, and it does not feel like you are driving a truck. The truck has more than exceeded all my expectations. This is my dream car, so I was expecting for it to perform and look well, and it did. My major dislike is the gas miles per gallon and the cost of parts. I take a lot of roads trips and would have liked taking my own vehicle but I have to rent a smaller car. Even though the vehicle is well maintained, the cost to keep it maintained, in excellent condition, is a lot due to the size. I think the design and the performance for the truck was executed very well.

Good truck with some drawbacks.
I have owned a 2005 Chevy Avalanche for about 3 years now. It is a good solid vehicle with a lot to offer. The in-bed tool boxes are very handy for storing tools and equipment. However they do drastically cut down on the space in the bed which is unfortunate. The back seats fold out which is handy when moving or hauling cargo in the cab. The biggest drawbacks I have found are fuel economy and power. I typically get about 10-12 miles to the gallon in the city which is not ideal. On the highway I get up to 18. I also own the rear-wheel drive model as opposed to the four-wheel drive. This helps on gas I know but can make towing through the mountains (I live in Colorado) difficult and, on occasion, nerve-wrecking. On the whole this is a reliable light duty truck with plenty of passenger room and a decent amount of cargo space. I have had no mechanical issues since I have own the vehicle so it is reliable even for its age. I have done my own maintenance and nearly everything is easy to access and work with. This is a great vehicle for driving and light hauling but not if you're looking for a heavy duty truck.
