I bought this truck new in 2003. I like the fact it's a smaller truck which makes it better with gas. I like that is had a powerful motor in it even though it's a mid-sized truck. It requires very little maintenance. I have 70,000 miles on it and it is driving like it did the first day I drove it.

The Chevy S 10 is a great vehicle to own. It is also fun to drive. Mine is a five speed. I call it a peppy little truck. It is not the top of the luxury line vehicle by any means, but it sure has saved tons of money on gas. It gets almost 20 miles per gallon, around town. On long trips, more like 25-27 miles per gallon. It has a cloth bench seat. It has a standard am/fm radio with cassette player and decent sounding speakers. The windows roll up and down by hand- nothing automatic to go bad and cost more money, in my opinion. It has about 175, 000. The only major trouble has been the timing chain when it broke at 174,000 miles.

Came with a brake booster box, upgraded suspension, and sway bars. It handles like a dream I wouldn't mind if it were a V6 but then I would lose my gas mileage so what to do. The only thing that I don't like as much about that truck is that it is single cab.
