Reliable, Affordable, Good on gas.
As a student this car is perfect for me. I purchased this car used, but in great condition. The vehicle is right in the sweet spot between fuel efficiency and power, balancing economy and a V6. The ride is very smooth, and when it is combined with the cruise control it makes driving on the highway a breeze. I have had the car for a few months and it has yet to need any maintenance other than routine car. I highly recommend this Saturn.

Great vehicle when new, but shows its age.
I enjoyed the simplicity of the 2004 Saturn L300. Even being nearly 15 years old, it did not look old. Or new for that matter. It simply looked like an unassuming car on the road. It was a perfect car for someone that doesn't care about looks but doesn't want to drive an "old" looking car. Mechanically, the car was sound. It has a closed transmission system that does not require constant topping off of fluid like the oil does. The transmission stays shifting through gears smoothly even after many years with proper basic maintenance. The gas mileage also staid pretty consistent. I would average it out to about 20mpg on the lower end of my estimate. It's not a sports car but it has a surprising amount of power. Maybe most importantly, for me, was the comfort of the car. It has ample seating space both front seat and back seat with plenty of trunk space with the fold-down backseats. It is not a big car, but packs a large interior that could routinely fit many 8 foot wood 2x4 boards. Overall, there isn't many bell or whistles but it makes up for it with simple practicality and a tenacious ability to get from point A to point B reliably and comfortably.
