Big surprise for Outback lovers.
I recently had a Subaru Impreza that was recalled for an airbag malfunction. In the interim, my local Subaru dealer loaned me a Subaru Outback (2017) to drive since it would be several weeks until the part came in to fix my other car. I was truly blown away by the comfort and interior size of this vehicle. It is much roomier and sits higher, I think, than the Forester, which used to be the bigger of the two. The back space has the usual fold down seats, but is easily big enough to sleep in for camping. We took it to the beach and gas mileage was about the same as the Impreza at 32 MPG,(highway) which is fantastic for such a large vehicle by comparison. Another thing I liked was the pick-up. I live in the mountains and climbing steep hills was sometimes a slow process, but with this car, it was a breeze. Very powerful. The interior panels were easy to read and well lit. One thing I did not like about it is it has many of the new high tech 'self driving' features such as lane change sensors and proximity to other vehicle sensors etc. This means that if you drift across or change lanes without turning your signal on, the car will beep at you. Expandable roof racks are ideal for carrying bikes or kayaks. Stylish design. I will purchase this vehicle and trade in my Impreza once it is fixed. Overall, I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Smooth enjoyable ride
The Subaru Outback is one of the smoothest rides you will ever get. The handling is like butter. When you start the car, you notice how comfortable it is to be inside one of these cars with leather seats that form to your body. The on board navigation is also very nice with GPS pre installed. There is also a camera system on higher trims of the Outback called the Subaru Eye, which detects the car in front of you. The Eye allows the driver to enable dynamic cruise control while driving so you don't need to slow down or speed up. All the dials and buttons for this feature are located on the steering wheel of the car. Depending on the trim you buy, the car also has a lot of power in the 3.6r touring trim. There is a lot of space in the car so everyone feels at ease when inside. The acceleration of the car is also very gradual so that the passengers will not notice the change in speeds too much.
