When we first bought it, it was amazing. It was very luxurious and roomy. It was comfortable to fit all of the kids in. What was really nice, was that the two front seats had heaters, which came in handy during the cold winters. It drove, how I would expect any big Suburban Style vehicle to drive. It had decent torque and get up and go.
Pros
It was big enough to fit everyone comfortably. I enjoyed the 5 disc changer. The trunk was decent with the amount of room that was given to the passengers.
Cons
Repairs became more and more frequent, even with regular maintenance and upkeep. It seemed like the brakes were always an issue. I cant count how many times we had to have the rotors and breaks redone. The pricing was also pretty high because of the vehicle type.

2007 Ford Expedition - Solid as a rock.

I bought this SUV for several reasons. First of all, it is large enough to transport eight people which was very convenient when I was a girl scout leader. Secondly, it is perfect for camping. Plenty of room to pack all of your gear inside and room for five to sit comfortably on a long drive. I purchased the four-wheel drive option which allowed me to get to off the road camp sites with no fear. When I needed to get away on my own, the back is the perfect size to fit an air mattress for an overnight sleep. The frame used for this vehicle is the same time-tested frame that is used on the F150, providing a solid ride. I have put 120,000 miles on this vehicle with no major problems. This vehicle is holding up remarkably well, and I plan on keeping it until the odometer skips past 200,000 ... (more)
Story
I lived in the mountains for about three years. During the winter snows, I used to love waving as we passed the other cars that were putting on chains. I always felt well prepared for anything.
Pros
Solid. Reliable. Strong. Fun. Roomy.
Cons
Gas mileage.
