2006 Hyundai Elantra - Solid and dependable
I have to say that after 8 years of owning my Hyundai Elantra, I'm just as happy today as I was the day I bought it. I didn't want to buy a flashy car or anything over my budget, but instead opted for something smart and dependable that would not blow my budget and be gas friendly. The dependability of my Elantra is what has been the most impressive part to me. I've never had one issue, just basic maintenance, and that's so important to me. No hassles, no unexpected surprises, and the comfort of feeling as if I have nothing to worry about. Even though my Elantra is getting some age and miles on it, my appreciation is still very high, and I'm very happy to drive it everyday. Story
Just normal life, and fun weekend trips overloaded with gear and people.
Pros
Low maintenance and the comfort of driving it. Great gas mileage, sharp appearance, and comfortable seating.
Cons
As its getting older I do have to worry about replacing parts, and if I were to really wish I had changed one thing, it would be the color of the interior. It could also accelerate a bit faster when merging on busy highways.
2016 Hyundai Elantra - I realized I am a big fan of the bells and whistles.
I leased this as my first vehicle that I ever paid for on my own. I wanted something affordable as I was just graduating college and would also have to pay loans. I opted to get the 2016 Hyundai Elantra without all the bells and whistles. That means I had no back-up camera, no heated seats, and no Bluetooth. After driving a company vehicle for a year and then switching to that car, I feel as if I have went many years back in time, even if it's a 2016.
Story
This car has been on many road trips with me through very dangerous weather conditions, which now looking back, I regret. But at the time it was very fun.
Pros
This car is very reliable and gets about 33 MPG on the highway. It is also pretty spacious and even has a very large trunk that can fit a small dog play pen no problem.
Cons
This vehicle had none of the bells and whistles such as back-up camera, Bluetooth, or heated seats. It was such a basic car that there were no features that made it worth its monthly payment.
