Our Jetta is our favorite car ever. We have had it for 10 years, and it is 12 years old, though it still runs perfectly. The maintenance has been a snap. We've always taken it to a dealer, and it has been very easy. The oil does not need to be changed but every 6 months (that's only twice a year!). Our favorite part is the Diesel fuel. The car drives about 45 miles for just a gallon of fuel! Because of such high return, we have driven the car all over the place! Now diesel is cheaper than regular gas, which makes it even better. Finally our car has over 200,000 miles and it purrrrrs. We definitely want to keep that car for ever. Now the interior is not that great anymore, but that can easily we fixed, and we are working on it. I would highly recommend the Diesel Jetta (yeah, even with... (more)
Story
When my husband comes home, I can hear him a mile away
Pros
Positive thing is the incredible gas mileage, and the longevity of the motor. Can't beat that.
Cons
The front light fog up really quickly, and you have to take the car to the dealer to have it fixed. The car does not take regular windshield wiper soap, and you have to get a special one.

The 2010 VW Jetta is a well crafted, fun-to-drive, and affordable car. It has a classic look and the interior is understated, refined and high quality. The car has great pickup with the five-cylinder 2.5-liter engine, and even at eight years old, it can generate some nice pick-up. The steering is also great; it handles so well around corners, which makes it a lot of fun to drive!
Story
It was my wife's car before it was mine, and she used to called it Mia. So, when I started driving it, I had to rename it to a newer, a bit more masculine, name. So my name was Obadiah.
Pros
Great acceleration. Steering is very responsive and fun. Interior is classy. Leatherette is nice. Very comfortable and heated seats. Good visibility.
Cons
Air conditioning is weak. Stock radio is un-exciting (but on par for 2010). Maintenance is more expensive than Japanese cars.

The dealership was very close to my house. Also, they were very quick about negotiating my deal. I worked with one finance guy and he and I talked through several pricing scenarios and vehicles with no haggling. It was a straightforward exchange. Ultimately, I settled on the Passat and handled the paperwork with the salesman.
