2003 Jeep Cherokee - Good.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a good family vehicle. Plenty of room to haul the kids and their things around to various events. The easy access back door makes handling groceries much easier. The comfort and room makes road trips enjoyable. It's 4 wheel driving capabilities adds a sense of safety in winter driving conditions. The Jeep easily handles trails to bring the family to remote camping locations, to enjoy nature and good times together. The Jeep Grand Cherokee comfortably sits five and plenty of room in the back for hauling things. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has had a few issues since we've owned it. Radiator had to be replaced, vacuum leak on ac line, value cover leak, unknown occasionally stalling out issues. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has had a few hiccup problems with it. The issues... (more)

The issues have luckily been easy and cheap fixes, knock on wood. It has remained a solid vehicle as it gets up there in mileage. Over 150,000 miles and going. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting room, affordability, and the added benefit of 4 wheel drive.

Three lanes of traffic moving at a snail's pace. There were a lot of people set up in lawn chairs staring at the road. What in the World was going on?! Hot rods and classic cars were parked along the strip in Pigeon Forge with their hoods up. Some were for sell, others were just showing off. Classic cars, hot rods, and modern vehicles cruised along together in the stop and go traffic. Apparently, we had ended up right in the middle of the Rod Runs in Pigeon Forge. It was hot, really, really hot. I was worried that running the ac in the heat and stop and go traffic would cause the Jeep to overheat. But luckily we didn't have any issues with overheating. Two hours later we finally reach the Smoky Mountains. The traffic seemed to all be turning around and staying down in Pigeon Forge. We reached Cades Cove and enjoyed a picnic and a chance to stretch our legs. We enjoyed the rest of the time breathing in the scenic Smoky Mountains. We even got a picture of a black bear nibbling on some blackberries near the road. The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers open road adventure and reliability.

2016 Jeep Cherokee - A very popular Jeep and worth it.
I originally leased this vehicle because I'd be living in a rural area over the winter. The area has a lot of hills and snow fall, so I absolutely needed something that could handle the environment. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the Altitude as it isn't exactly an off-road vehicle but was able to navigate what I threw at it. The snow wasn't an issue, and considering we had a very bad winter, I will say I was happy that I had decided on the purchasing the Jeep instead of a sedan I had my eyes on before seeing the Altitude. Even though it's not considered for off-road use, it does have a profile for a Jeep that is meant to go off-road, which is interesting. I'd say my mill drive in the woods was the best moment of this Jeep. A tree had been blown over in the road. The road behind the tree was covered in snow and would be too dangerous to navigate because there was a cliff somewhere up ahead. My wife thought we would be stranded, but I decided we could drive through the woods. She was scared, but we made it home in that storm safe and sound.

I think the Active Drive option is the best thing about this vehicle. Since it has an off-road, one-inch suspension, it works in tandem with the active drive. It has a low range in hill decent control in addition to four different terrain settings. It had snow, mud, sand and sport settings, which have all come in handy at some point or another over the course of the winter. When needing to drive through the woods, the sand setting actually kept me from getting stranded by a fallen tree in the road. I was able to navigate a full mile through woodland to my home with no issue. The wife was a... (more)

I'd say the dash is a bit cumbersome. The more bells and whistles the Jeep has, the more you need to read and experiment. Other than that, I don't have any complaints.
