My 2006 Jeep Commander is AWESOME!
I bought my 2006 Jeep Commander, used, about 2 years ago. The Commander has a solid build to it, no rattles, jingles or jangles. The 7 passenger seating is great for the size of my family and got me out of buying the "Dad Van". The features that came with the car (electric windows, sunroof, heated seats and heated mirrors) have never failed me and have actually worked really well. There is no better feeling in the world then hopping in your vehicle in the dead of winter and having your seats warmed up in a very fast manner. One negative item with the vehicle is the shifter. My Commander is an automatic, but soon after I purchased the vehicle I ran into an issue with the shifter not making contact to the circuit board it's connected to underneath. After checking out the Jeep message boards I found out that this was a known issue but no recalls had been made. It was a relatively easy fix, just a little pricey, Aside from that one issue, I am very happy with my decision to purchase my Jeep Commander.

It is pretty inside and out however there is a few to many mechanical flaws with this model.
The outside of the vehicle is very nicely built and is of a decent size. The inside if especially nice because of the room it has in each row. It is a decent size, not to large but not to small.

We bought this car when we bought a minivan. I think the main reason we own it is because we feel so much cooler driving it than the van! It has an aggressive look to it, and sits higher up on the road. After driving a minivan around town for a few days, we always end up fighting over who gets to drive this one. The seating fabric is really nice. We had a 2007 Compass before this, and the fabric is much nicer on this SUV. There is a ton of room for everyone, especially with the back seat slightly raised so passengers back there can see the road and interact with the front better. We did need to have a sensor in the transmission replaced at around 35k miles. The engine light would come on, and the car couldn't accelerate. This happened when turning left at a light a couple of times, and then we knew that it wasn't a repair that would wait. it wasn't a ton of money to get it fixed, but it was $400-500. This car isn't any worse on gas than any other 6 cyl engine, really .
