Built for Adventure, Safe for Day-to-Day
The Jeep is well-built from top to bottom. It's a very attractive car and has stood the test of time. It still looks brand new after a few years. We had a few issues when we first purchased the vehicle (lightly used), but since then, we have had no issues. It's a great car for a road trip - gas is surprisingly better on highways than older models, and has a huge tank. The steering wheel rattles a bit when going between 65-75 mph, and I've had occasional trouble switching from regular to snow setting when weather isn't great.

First Impression was good.
This is the first Jeep I have ever purchased. I would personally purchase another Jeep. But I have several complaints. I love the interior design, the feel and the space that my car gives me. But I have had several problems with this vehicle that I have never had with another car. Every single window regulator for every door in my car has malfunctioned once or more. I have also had issues with a few sensors. I do not like the radio that came with the car I personally felt that they could have installed a better version. Besides that I am looking forward to purchasing another Jeep in the future.

Great vehicle for the rocky mountains
The jeep grand Cherokee has a pretty bad reputation with a lot of people, but I think that is mostly because of who they are and how they use it. You wouldn't take a pocket knife can opener and use it in a restaurant kitchen then complain that it's tiring and slow, would you? I had one of these for three years in the middle of the rocky mountains, my house was at almost twice the elevation of Denver. I will admit it cost me a lot of time and money to get in good shape (I work on my own cars) but when I got it, it was nine years old and had clearly been beat up. That is part of where the bad reputation comes in people who buy jeeps don't take care of them but do complain when they break. This years body style was a little overly round compared to most jeeps but not bad to look at. Driving it the interior was comfortable, the back seats were a little small for the size of the vehicle. Most of the cons with this car are from the design for actual use, in this case the floor is higher to give better ground clearance. The ride was good, not great, a lot of people think it's bad but that's caused by front and rear solid axles. They are better for off road but ride rougher. The trunk was plenty big for my tools, or dogs, or firewood. The dogs weren't a huge fan of how high the trunk was above the ground. I had the six cylinder so the miles per gallon were about the same as every other midsize suv I've seen. It had great braking which got a lot of testing on some steep slopes, it wasn't fast, you mostly can't pass on the highway. It has a high enough center of gravity that you don't want to go that fast anyway. There was a lot of low end torque so you could pull a car out of the ditch or creep up a steep mining road. The main downside for most people is how often it needs repaired, but if you keep up on it that's not really too bad. People just let problems keep piling up then scream when they get one huge bill. All the problems I had were with parts that normally wear out. The grand Cherokee went through ball joints, tire rod ends, shocks, and brakes faster than most vehicles but the stuff I drove on would take a toll on anything. Overall I would say this is a good vehicle for working in the woods and driving through blizzards, and a bad one for daily commuting.
