My 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was a great vehicle. It had plenty of room for nearly everything I ever needed to put in there along with plenty of space for my wife and kids. The Jeep was a very capable vehicle. It never got stuck in the mud or in a ditch. My family owns a farm in central Texas, so driving on paved roads isn't always an option, but the Jeep handled the gravel roads very smoothly. In total, I put 135,000 miles on it and never had any major mechanical problems related to build quality.
Story
My friends and I were coming back from a river trip and a tire blew out on I35 from a piece of construction debris. It was memorable because it was the middle of summer, and we were all hungover changing a tire on the side of the busiest interstate highway in Texas. It was a bonding experience for all of us.
Pros
Very spacious. I was able to fit golf clubs along with car seats, luggage and three adults comfortably. It was durable. Like I said above, I put 130,000 miles on it with no major mechanical problems related to build quality. Being a working farmer, durability and ruggedness are important to me, and the Jeep delivered that while still maintaining a level of elegance my wife appreciated enough to go out to town on the weekends.
Cons
For me personally, I like cars and trucks to be custom. For most Jeeps, that is no problem, but the Grand Cherokee didn't have the wide selection of aftermarket parts that other models enjoy. The one major electrical problem I had was due to the fact the designers made the firewall a perfect spot for squirrels to nest...with the exception of the wiring harness. They ate through it, and it had to be spliced back together. Another downfall is the ease of repairs on this vehicle. With new computers and tighter tolerances around each part this vehicle is not particularly mechanic friendly.

My Jeep Cherokee has been a great SUV for six years. I haven't had any major issues with it. The only ones were a couple of recalls that the dealership fixed with no trouble. It does have one rattle every now and then by the drivers side on the dash, but it's never bothered me enough to worry about. I have driven over 70,000 miles and not had any issues. It is a great car for children and teens. The car seats fit well and buckles in easily in the back. The back seats have plenty of leg room. Also, the very back is great for hauling things. The back seats fold down super easy and flat for easy transport of sports equipment or dining room chairs, etc. The leather seats and steering wheel have held up great with no tears and very little wear. When I clean out my car, it looks b... (more)
Story
Once, we laid down the back seats and filled the entire back full of canned foods for a canned food drive in Ardmore. It was completely full; and when we got there to unload them, some had shifted when driving and then rolled out when we opened the doors.
Pros
I love the height of the car because it makes drive thrus easy, but isn't too tall for a short person like me to get in and out of. The body style looks great, not too boxy and not too round. The navigation and satellite radio are easy to work with and very helpful on road trips.
Cons
I wish it had a third row sometimes. It only holds five people, and sometimes we need more room. There is a slight rattle on the dash, but it isn't very bothersome.
