2000 Jeep Cherokee - Only in a Jeep

This Jeep will not let you down. The 4.0 inline six engine will go and go and go. We bought this vehicle to go up and down a snowy mountain in the winter time as we live on a winding mountain road all the way at the top. It went where other vehicles would just not go. The 4wd is awesome and you don't have to worry about locking hubs or getting out of the vehicle to engage the 4wd. The interior is comfortable as well as the ride. I love having a vehicle that requires very little maintenance and can go just about anywhere you want to take it. Right now I have just over 200,000 miles on it and I think it will go for another 200,000 more. This has been one of my favorite vehicles to own.
Story
this past winter I went up my mountain in over 2 ft. of snow so I could plow back down. I had 4 chains on it and it made it all the way up, even I was amazed.
Pros
This jeep will go anywhere. It's comfortable even over rough terrain. The engine is very strong and the pickup you get out of that inline six is just incredible. This is one of the best off road all terrain vehicles you can buy.
Cons
I would like it to have a few less rattles. And the overall noise in the cab can be a bit high when you are on a longer trip. The interior is not cramped but it is also not really roomy. Being 6'5" it is a little tight in there but still comfortable.

I think this SUV is amazing. It provides everything I need in a car. I can tow something if I need to and its great for moving. I use it as my everyday car. One downfall is that the gas mileage is not amazing. But the car is 18 years old so when I bought it I did not expect it to be amazing. One thing I really have liked about the car is that if anything does go wrong on it I can be the one that fixes it. There are tons of resources out there for people who own Jeeps. If you know how to use them it will save you a ton of money doing it yourself instead of going to another person to do the work. A few things that I have had go wrong with the car is the horn did not work and it needed to be replaced, the Harmonic balancer needed to be replaced, and there is a small short with my blinker.... (more)
Pros
It is a great ride and a very reliable car.
Cons
Low gas mileage.

I love my new Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk. It sits high off the ground and has all the bells and whistles on the inside, as we got the upgraded package. It is a high quality vehicle and drives so nicely. It is comfortable to ride in and roomy on the inside, but still small enough to make maneuverability easy. It drives nicely in the snow with the all wheel drive.
Story
It is my first all wheel drive vehicle and it made driving in the snow so much easier and I was not as anxious to drive in the snow.
Pros
I love the heated front seats and steering wheel. They heat up quickly and feel so good on cold winter days. They never seem to be too hot either. I also love that it is remote start so I can start it from inside my house in the mornings to warm up. It is also keyless entry and as long as I have the keys with me, I can get in my car without getting my keys out of my pocket.
Cons
There is a ledge on the inside bottom of the car that collects dirt and road grime and when getting in and out of the car, my legs rub on the ledge and get my pants dirty. I also wish the front console was bigger between the front seats. I like to use the center console for storage and as an arm rest and the size is just not quite big enough.
